LRVC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team! In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. Your expertise in animal care and knowledge of veterinary practices will be crucial in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients. Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze samples.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia monitoring.
Provide post-operative care and educate pet owners on follow-up care.
Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
Stay current with veterinary technology advancements and best practices.
Qualifications
Proven experience in animal care, preferably as a Veterinary Technician or similar role.
Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and dental terminology.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment.
Experience with dog handling and training is a plus; equine experience is desirable.
Proficiency in X-ray techniques and equipment operation is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
