GMR was recently commissioned to construct a memorial for Karen Collier. Her son conveyed her affinity for horses. I asked if he would loan us her saddle and tack for the photoshoot to which he obliged. Her bronze plaque has horses on it.

All GMR memorials receive this level of attention. We view the design and customer interaction as part of the healing process for the families.

Our Lion Memorial Reef

GMR was recently commissioned to construct a memorial for Gina Lobato. She and her husband Danny Lobato would sit on their balcony overlooking Clearwater Bay and watch the dolphins.

Guess which memorial was requested….

Interacting with Danny I would lose track of time hearing stories about him and Gina. During our last conversation I said “You know Netflix might be interested in turning your story into a movie”

Her memorial is complete and loaded on our barge as we wait for deployment.

Danny, thank you for allowing GMR to commemorate Gina. We hope we exceeded your expectations.

This is our Obelisk memorial. The shape is said be developed by the ancient Egyptians. It is believed the intention was to show respect for a person of great importance and can found at meaningful locations around the world including our Nations Capital.

The obelisk shape also allows GMR to become very creative with the bronze plaques as it provides four flat sides to accommodate elaborate requests.

The Barnard family flew into town and we spent the better part of Saturday at Eileen’s memorial. The family had some pretty cool ideas. Remember her favorite color being purple, the ladies painted their toe nails glitter purple, everyone scattered purple flowers, some went for a swim, they played her favorite songs on the stereo and toasted Eileen with a Margarita. The icing on the cake was a dolphin rode our wake for a bit just as we were wrapping up the day.

Thank you again Michael Sr and the entire Barnard family. You are an amazing group and it was an honor to commemorate Eileen.

Yesterday GMR deployed two memorials.

Deployment represents the final stages of our process. It’s the culmination of unique ideas, the act of placement in a specific area and a giving back to the environment with something that is meaningful and beneficial for all.

The 2 1/2 hour ride out towing the barge is like watching nature put on a show. Words can’t describe the sense of peace with being on the water prior to sunrise, watching the sky change colors and hearing the sounds of the Gulf.

It’s like nature is coming to life and giving a glimpse of her beauty.

GMR was recently commissioned to construct a memorial for Eileen Barnard. Her husband informed she had an affinity for Dolphins and her favorite color was purple.

We set out to make her memorial amazing by incorporating those two themes. The entire base was covered in amethyst which is a naturally occurring purple stone, her bronze plaque was powder coated with a purple background and of course we couldn’t forget her dolphin statue.

Eileen’s memorial is loaded on our barge and ready to deploy in the Gulf where it will spend eternity creating new life while commemorating hers.
