We've had numerous requests for butter. We are excited to now offer the butter bundle. It includes butter, Icelandic Skyr (made with the skim milk after separating the cream for butter), and whey.

This bundle includes all the products from buttermaking. We first separate the cream from the milk. We churn the cream to make butter, then make Icelandic-style skyr yogurt from the skim milk. We had a nice day yesterday at the Noble County show. The highlight of the day was Blacker SS BS Jeep Cherokee going reserve champion senior recorded grade doe. Azure was pretty excited about that! She's worked really hard with Cherry, and when you watch them in the ring, you'd never guess how wild Cherry started out!
Not much love for our Nigerians yesterday. Azalea was second in a class of only two. The judge did say that he loved her dairyness, though!
Pink Ink was 4th in a large class of two year old Nubians.
Cherry's daughter Pineapple took third place in her class.
Kelly Fry and Hannah Horstman and everyone else that helped always put on a great show, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Good grief T.P.! You're getting put on a diet!

I knew she was fat, but after shaving her, I found out she's VERY fat. This is the second year she had a single, and this year she freshened early and didn't udder up before at all. Hopefully next year she has quads and milks some of this off!

We had our first milk test today! Unfortunately we had a feed mishap which caused the does to drop pretty significantly in production, but it's still fun to see the data, and hopefully the numbers will be better next test.
Cherry led the standard breed does with 10lbs, and Elvira led the Nigerians with 4lbs.

I tried a cottage cheese recipe today for the first time, and I think it turned out really well. We are big fans of cottage cheese, and recently noticed all the ingredients in the brand we were buying. 😬 We tried another brand with a cleaner ingredient list, but most of us didn't like it very well. I'm hoping we will all like what I made!
