!!! WHAT A CAT BREEDER NEVER SAYS OUT LOUD! 🐱
🤔 Many people think that a cat breeder lives in a perfect world with their cats. But hardly anyone sees what is really behind to accompany these little miracles into life healthy and lovingly. The pictures are sweet. Reality is intense, demanding and full of responsibility.
☝ Every birth is a lottery.
You can prepare, plan and learn anything... but no birth goes like the other.
Feels like the first time every time, even after many years of experience.
😔 Death is our greatest enemy.
A cat that gets complications. A kitten that just can't make it.
It often happens unexpectedly and breaks our hearts every time.
👍 Recruiting a suitable cat costs money, time and effort.
Health tests, travel costs, cover charges, waiting times and many sleepless nights.
And then we hope that everything goes well: infections, birth problems or developmental disorders can occur at any time.
Breeding is an investment - financially, emotionally and physically.
🍼 Bottle feeding?
Cute... for the first five minutes.
After that, it often means weeks-long feeding every two to three hours – day and night.
This is no longer a hobby, this is survival mode.
🤦 Many people see kittens as "business":
"Number of kittens × price = win! “
What is often forgotten:
• Health and genetic testing
• Club and breeding costs
• High-quality nutrition
• Veterinary costs
• Vaccines, chip and pedigree
• Taxation
• Care and hygiene
• Photos, website and advertisements
• Mountains of cat litter and food
• Countless cups of coffee and nerve food
• And above all: sleepless nights
What's left at the end?
Rarely a gold bar.
Often not even a reasonable hourly wage.
😴 Sleepless nights are inevitable.
No weekends, no vacations, no breaks.
🤫 Who really raises the kittens?
The mother cat ... and the breeder.
Any little infection that could endanger a whole litter is feared.
😬 And the question:
"Why is the kitten so expensive?" “
If we got a Euro for every time...
Then maybe our cats would get caviar instead of high-quality food.
😵 💫 The future owners are also worrying us.
A kitten is not a commodity you just order.
It's a little creature with needs and character.
Often the color of the fur seems to be more important than the creature.
Many want a kitten IMMEDIATELY and are at the same time on waiting lists with several breeders to get their desired cat or cat as soon as possible.
Many go unprepared into the adventures of cat farming.
You expect the kitten to immediately understand everything, behave perfectly and do no work.
This is why we choose our families carefully.
Sometimes we choose against interested people.
Sometimes we wait longer.
Because they are our "babies" and we only want the best for them.
😔 Emotional fatigue?
You rarely see these.
The pressure, the responsibility, the constant worry and the feeling that you always have to do everything right.
And sometimes the loneliness in difficult situations.
💔 Sometimes we just want to stop.
After a loss.
After a setback.
After being exhausted.
And then a kitten opens its eyes for the first time...
and it all starts again.
It's a passion that keeps you going.
🙏 We rarely talk about the grief.
Yet with every loss, a piece of our heart is lost.
It’s terrible when a kitten can’t make it.
Nevertheless, we stand up again - for the other kittens who need our care and should later find a loving home.
🥰 Yes, there are beautiful moments.
Yes the joy is huge.
But behind every responsible cat breeder, there's a path of sleepless nights, worries, tears, and emotions.
And above all:
Unconditional love for these special animals. ❤️🐾❤️🐱🐱
That's what we do it for.
