Jim Potter Stables headed to Wisconsin to help support the Wisconsin Memorial Showcase Show June 3-4. This show is put on in memory of past Wisconsin Walking Horse Association club members who were not only founding members of the club, but key in the industry such as Leo Baum, George Thompson along with many others, including friend Chuck Spinelli who passed in 2021 and JPS customer Nancy Baer who passed in 2011. Topping the string was Ozone Alert, undefeated in SSH Open Shod, which was great to see since owner/rider Marianne Springer is from Wisconsin. Mag Ranft was not able to make the trip, but sent her Lite Shod horse Mischief Managed, who went undefeated, and her new 3yr old, Prima, also undefeated… only her third ever class showing, and won a large western 5&under open class and then went on to win the Championship. Tina Donaugh and Nancy Eakins made the trip from Ohio and had two horses at the show ridden by Jim Potter including Rowdy reward who was undefeated in Plantation. It was a smaller string, but with Marianne riding her horse across three divisions, that left Jim to ride everything else at a faster moving 2-day show. Big Shout Out to Amy Spinelli-Olson who so graciously came out to the show to give us a helping hand on Saturday and Sunday….Thanks Amy!! Way to go everyone and Congrats !!

JPS kicked off the 2026 show season at the Michigan Spring Premier in May, wanting to help support shows in the region. It was just three horses as only Mag Ranft and Marianne Springer were able to attend. Definitely a much more laid back easy going show which was a great opportunity to get some ring time for Mag’s brand new 3 year old filly Prima…the filly’s very first time showing and she did great and even captured a championship. The horses showed well with plenty of blue to go around and beautiful championship buckles !!

A little catching up…..

Jim Potter Stables was well represented February 28, 2026, at the Mid-Ohio Walking Horse Association Banquet for 2025 High Point Awards. The barn captured High Points spanning multiple divisions including 13 Champion titles.

It was an enjoyable evening of good folk getting together over good food and drink to celebrate the past year successes. Congratulations Everyone !!

Congratulations to Owners and Trainer Jim Potter on 18 National Walking Horse Association 2025 High Point Awards, including 9 Grand Championships awarded at the NWHA Banquet in Nashville, TN on January 17, 2026. Hard work and dedication throughout 2025 was evident with all the Grand Champion, Reserve and other High Point Awards spanning multiple divisions.

Ozone Alert, owned by Marianne Springer, topped the evening with 5 Grand Champion High Points for SSH Open Shod (9th year in a row!!) along with repeats in SSH Lite Shod, Pleasure Racking, Style Racking, and Country Pleasure Racking, and third place Overall Rail Horse. In the Lite Shod division, Mischief Managed owned by Mag Ranft, had a repeat capture of 2 Grand Champion High Points for English and Western, and took Reserve in O/T. Taking the Grand Champion High Point in Plantation Western for the third year in a row, was Rowdy Reward for owner Tina Donaugh and Nancy Eakins, and also took home the Reserve in English 2 gait. Customer Wendy Kaufman graciously volunteered as one of the award presenters for the evening. Another successful show season in 2025 for JPS. Congrats Everyone !!

Congrats to trainer Jim Potter and JPS Customers on capturing 9 Walking Horse Report High Point awards for 2025 including 2 Grand Champion and 4 Reserve Champion honors. Ozone Alert, owned by Marianne Springer, captured the Grand Champion High Point in SSH Open Shod for the 8th time. Rowdy Reward, owned by Tina Donaugh walked away with the Grand Champion honor in Western Plantation/Park Pleasure for the third year in a row. Multiple other very nice placings. Congrats Everyone !!
