July brought joy all around! 162 animals (86 of them were kittens) were adopted this month and now have warm hearts and happy tails. Here are only a few of the special souls who found their people:

😸 Fluffy, Zorro, and Domino are 3-month-old kittens who came to the shelter in rough condition. Wet, cold, and in need of care. It took a team of people just to warm them up and a dedicated staff member to feed and monitor them throughout the night. Thanks to their foster home, they grew into healthy, happy kittens.

🐕 Zeus, 6-year-old German Shepherd also came to our shelter in awful condition, as a lost, emaciated dog. Our veterinary team took great care of him during his recovery, and he blossomed into a playful, excited-to-learn pup. He stole our hearts with his love for treats and showing off his intelligence.

🐾 Snoopy, 2-month-old puppy

🐶 Autumn, 2-year-old Chihuahua showed off her joyous and upbeat personality and found a new home in no time with her adorable, gentle spirit.

😻 Hans & Pixie, 2-month-old kittens

🐶 Joy, the 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier — This happy gal has lots of energy even as a senior pup, and she was overJOYed to find her new home.

Pibby is ready to strut her way through the week. This 12-year-old is a 61 lb. bundle of joy with endless love for humans! She's extremely chill and is eager for a cozy, comfortable retirement home to spend her golden years in.

It's easy to fall in love with her smile that is always infectious. As long as she's with her people (and earning lots of treats for good deeds) she's happy. Pibby has a youthful, intelligent mind and loves to train and practice her tricks.

This senior sweetie sure does enjoy quiet time and needs a soft place to rest. If you have children in the home, Pibby will do best with kids 12 and older that can respect her space. Pibby will thrive as your special one and only dog.

It's a brand-new day, and Spiderman is here to save the day!

Just in time for his new movie release, Spiderman is proud to be a hero of the Quakertown Shelter. He acts as our security guard, constantly monitoring the lobby, silently observing, and prepared to greet all who enter. Although he may seem judgy, that might be so — but he truly just wants love, and playtime.

Spiderman is one of those unique, and confident cats who capture your heart just as fast as he is. During playtime, he is quick, witty, talented, and handsome of course — what more could you ask for in feline friend? At 5 years old, this gentleman has been waiting patiently since March for a special home where his hero qualities are treasured.

Just like a spider, Spiderman rarely has all his feet on the ground. He prefers to be up high where he can watch everything going on around him. Spiderman enjoys human affection on his own terms, and he will thrive in a home with older children who will respect his space. There's only one Spiderman, so he needs a home where he is your special one and only cat.

*UPDATE - PEANUT AND WOODSTOCK WERE ADOPTED!*
Good grief, are these two cute! Meet our 2-month-old pups that rival Snoopy — Peanut and his favorite feathered pal, Woodstock.

*ADOPTED!* Peanut (black) is a sweet and goofy gal who is the "Charlie Brown" of this duo. She's a confident gal who loves tug of war and head scratches. Peanut has an adventurous side and enjoyed swimming in her foster mom's pool!

Foster homes needed! When you become a BCSPCA foster, you are helping set kittens up for success in life. You provide a safe space to show the little ones that the world is full of love and fun, and to make sure that sick, rescued animals are comfortable and relaxed during their recovery.

During the height of this summer, we had over 100 animals in foster (mostly kittens), and we celebrated an incredible 140 kitten adoptions since May. Our kitten population tends to spike a few times throughout the warmer months, so we still need more loving hands!

Join our crew of trained foster volunteers and help kittens, cats, and other animals who need time in the comfort of a home before adoption.

The boys of summer are here! Meet our available male kittens: Phineas, Luke, Hans, Shane, Johnny, Fred, and Domino.

Phineas (grey) is an absolute purr machine who loves to play with anything that rolls. He's known to be a very vocal boy, and his foster shared that his happy place is cuddled up in his person's lap!

Luke (grey) and Hans (black) are an iconic Star Wars duo who came to our shelter as part of a large litter, and now they are ready to explore new horizons with loving families.

Johnny (black) is an active and very spirited kitten, with a loving nature. He adores climbing and would enjoy having lots of cat trees and playtime in his new home.

Fred (grey) is another playful little guy who adores scratches under the chin. He loves to play with ribbons, feathers, wand toys, and to run up and down his cat tower.

Domino (black and white) was brought to the shelter with his siblings in rough condition. Wet, cold, and in need of care. We are so grateful to rescues and compassionate community members who step up to help save lives like these little ones. Thanks to the rescuer of these kittens and Stray Cat Project for bringing them to the Bucks County SPCA. These cuties have already adopted!

Have you ever known someone who is a cat or kitten magnet? 🐱✨ If there are felines in the area, they’ll find them — and not because they went looking!

One of the good Samaritans we assisted this past spring discovered just how true that can be. Late one evening, while taking out the garbage, four tiny 3-4 week old kittens suddenly sprang out from a hedge! 😳

Not knowing what else to do, he scooped them up and called for backup. With the help of a friend, they searched the area and located the kittens’ mom, but she wasn’t interested in being rescued. She quickly disappeared, and despite several attempts, she could not be trapped.

We activated our network and contacted a neighbor a few doors down, who is also a compassionate community cat caretaker. They also set a trap in their yard for a few nights in case mama passed through. Unfortunately, she was never found. It appears she moved on from the area.

The kittens, however, were safe. Their very caring rescuer stepped up and learned how to syringe feed them and care for them. ❤️ A few weeks later, we were able to help find placement for these little ones with the Bucks County SPCA , where they could continue their journey toward finding loving forever homes.

It truly takes a village to save lives — and we’re so grateful for every person who steps up when a cat or kitten needs help. 🐾 Many thanks to the Bucks County SPCA for helping the kittens on the way to their happily ever after. 🐾

Check out this raving rabbit review from the adopter of Cloud the 1-year-old French Lop! She came to our shelter along with many other rabbits from a family who needed our help. Our team has been thrilled to have found loving homes for 30 rabbits this year so far. We now have a high rabbit population at our shelters and need help from the community to get more bunnies adopted!
