Now that I’ve got some capacity to work with Rusty consistently, we’re back to reviewing skills we have previously established. Rusty was a little rusty on responding to some of these commands but glad to see he has remembered them. They’ll come along so long as I’m consistent with his training.

💥 Curious how I’m able to achieve this level of training with Rusty? Visit the link here and in my bio to get to the Gundog USA dog training app. https://usgundog.onelink.me/B4Ou/4W8XF

Josey x Coy ‘26 - The last of this wonderful litter has finally gone home 🏡

We are especially thankful to have great customers that chose us as their breeder!

Hanging with the boys - Mack and Merle

With all the young dogs we’ve been focusing on, these guys have not been getting many reps in lately. All three of us enjoyed knocking the rust off today 👍

Rusty’s first time seeing marks from a remote launcher 🚀

We’ve primarily retrieved placed dummies to this point and will continue to mostly retrieve placed dummies for a while. But it was fun to get the winger out and see how he responded to watching dummies fall from a different angle.

Fern’s first day retrieving off the launcher since she was about 3 months old 🚀

She’s been ready for this for quite some time. But we’re in no rush. We’ve laid a solid foundation for Fern to this point. Now that she’s beginning to mature into a real desire to work, we are beginning to get a little more serious in the field.

Everyone is spoken for in this litter but we will be repeating it next summer! Message or call to place a deposit for Josey x Coy 2027 🐾 We still have a few left…

Of all the things we do to prepare our pups for their new families, this might be my favorite—letting our kids just be kids with them. 🤍

The cuddles, the play, the noise, the being carried around everywhere… it’s all part of growing up here. And I truly believe it’s one of the best things we can give them before they go home to you.
