Druid Dogs Service Dog Training Program
Service Dog Community Education

Service Dog Training Program specializing in psychiatric service dogs, autism dogs and light mobility dogs, we cross train as well as custom train to fit the handler's needs. All dogs are trained to iaadp standards, pass a public access test, and are canine good citizens before graduation and being placed with a handler. We encourage the bond between dog and handler so we appreciate handlers helpi

ng with the training process as much as they can. If you'd like to volunteer please contact us to ask about fostering, puppy raising and helping with socialization.

DO NOT TOUCH A SERVICE DOG ESPECIALLY DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

Many handlers are immunocompromised, high risk and are in serious danger if they get sick. When you touch their dog they can't just cover their dog in hand sanitizer or spray it down with lysol. That dog probably goes to bed with their handler, cuddles with their handler and might have tasks that involve touching their handler's face.

Let dogs do their job all year round, but it's not just because it's distraction, it's also a health and germ problem. Touching a service dog puts people's lives at risk even if the dog isn't distracted.

If someone knows who made this meme please let me know so I can give them photo credit.

As of today, December 18th 2019, our applications are closed. Our waitlist is growing faster than our puppy raiser and trainer network and we need to focus on the clients already on our list and dogs in our program.

Applications will tentativly reopen summer 2020.

If you are interested in puppy raising or becoming a junior trainer please email Kris at [email protected]

The more help we have the more dogs we can train.

Service dogs aren't for everyone, and we know that, but just like medications sometimes they're the best option and still have their downfalls or side effects. Social anxiety is often one of those side effects. When you see a service dog working please remember that. We want to grab our groceries and get on with our lives just like you, our dogs are not an invitation to invade our bubble and a vest is not an invitation to distract our dogs. Remember, we're disabled, not entertainers and our dogs are medical equipment, not a petting zoo.

It’s been a rough week. Druid Dogs lost an honorary Druid Cat Revan. He was always there for us and very loved even when he learned how to open drawers and steal all the dog treats the night before 9am obedience classes. He will be missed. Because of this everything has slowed down a little, thank you all so much for your patience.

I swear this dog knows how important she is. She takes her training seriously like someone returning to grad school after a gap year to get all their shenanigans out. Her dedication to learning is unparalleled by any other dog I’ve worked. She is ALWAYS in the mood to work and ALWAYS in the mood to train. Not only does she learn things after just a couple tries but she also retains the information even if we haven’t practiced it in a while.

Sully, our washout, went home to a wonderful family today. He has a great life ahead of him. I forgot to get a picture of him with his new family because I had to rush out the door before I started crying. I’m so very excited for him and to see what his future holds. He will be very loved and I will always cherish the months I got to spend with him.

Good luck Sully, you are so very loved!
