Bring your pup and the family to our Can Do Woofaroo fundraiser walk and festival on Saturday, September 13!
With the help of our trainers, teach your dog new tricks on our free K-9 Confidence agility course, or choose from a variety of activities for purchase. Get creative at the Paw Painting booth, where you can stamp your pup's paw print on custom-made plaques and surfaces, and have their name stylistically painted. Try your luck at the Paw Punch game and win a mystery dog toy, or commemorate the day with a caricature of you and your pooch. You can even get a free group photo at our photo booth! All proceeds from these activities go towards our cause.

Join us for an Open House on August 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. 👣Through a self-guided tour, attendees will be able to watch a trainer working with an assistance dog, talk with a dog host volunteer, and meet graduate teams from each of the five types of areas Can Do Canines trains dogs: hearing, mobility, seizure, diabetes, and childhood autism.
🍦The first 75 people in attendance will receive a free cup of Culver’s custard, thanks to Culver’s-Golden Valley.
⛱ All attendees can enter a drawing to win a Bogg beach bag (value $72) plus accessories! This includes a Bogg phone holder and a Wekapo beach blanket. Can Do Canines (New Hope, Minn.) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities by creating mutually beneficial partnerships with specially trained dogs.
Since 1989, Can Do Canines has provided assistance dogs to people with disabilities, free of charge. Our fully-trained dogs, sometimes adopted from local animal shelters, are provided to clients with mobility challenges, hearing loss or deafness, seizure disorders, diabetes complicated by hypoglycemia unawareness or children with autism.
Can Do Canines is the largest provider of assistance dogs in Minnesota and relies on individual contributions to support its important work. It costs more than $25,000 to train and place an assistance dog.
A defining characteristic of Can Do Canines is its commitment to find new ways for assistance dogs to help individuals with disabilities. The organization’s leadership in ‘thinking outside the box’ can be seen through a variety of innovations. Can Do Canines pioneered the training of assistance dogs to detect low glucose levels for people with type I diabetes and Can Do Canines was one of the first organizations in the country to train a Seizure Assist Dog to interact with a Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS), a device implanted in the chest of an individual to help control seizures.
