Hello from us! We took a break for about 18 months due to illness in the family 💔🙏

We are so excited to share with you again!🐶

Meet Aspen the pure bred Samoyed! He is 16mo, and intact (due to be neutered soon). We were concerned with his neuter status due to possible behavioral issues & dog on dog problems that come with having an intact male. Guess what? He’s darn near perfect - a perfect house guest, loving & playful dog & cat friend, and loves all humans he meets. 😅

However, dogs, (regardless of their breed or neuter status), need physical exercise, and mental stimulation. He has gotten too little of both today and we learned he’s a digger!

Generally he gets an hour walk, a 30 minute hike, and playtime in the yard daily which makes him a happy houseguest. Problem behaviors like digging are almost always boredom driven. Keep your dogs happy and mentally sound with exercise, and/or mental games to drain their energy and squash bad habits!

Congratulations on your graduation Crunchy!

We spent 4 weeks together working on barking, stranger introductions, leadership, and basic obedience.

When we first met he was stiff, staring, nipping, and showing his teeth instead of using his nose, and focusing on what his human mom requested of him. We utilized the place command to keep him away from the door when strangers came inside, and luring to help him learn basic cues which also helped to drain his energy. His parents were 100% committed to helping him become the best, calmer version of himself, and he is now not only a balanced dog, but safe to be around if you don’t know him.

Real talk!

Do you know how much exercise your dog needs to keep them physically healthy, and mentally sound? Are they acting out by shredding dog beds, chewing on shoes, or giving you new renovations to do because they like the taste of your drywall?

Meet Arya. She is a husky mix who was “rescued” from a breeding situation that gave her not the best start to life. Her owners are responsible puppy parents and let her come to us for some daily fun! She came to us very young where we first labeled her the 4-hour dog. She needed 4 hours of playtime, chasing, hiking, and/or walking before she would literally sit down. She is now turning the corner on 2yo and has upped her needs to about 7 hours. Husky’s have the ability to pull a sled for days on end so putting them in a domesticated home without something to drain their physical and mental will frustrate them and their parents.

This picture was taken after about 7 hours of yard exercise and then 30 minute sniff session at Petsmart.

Regardless of what dog you want to rescue or adopt, make sure you understand their exercise and mental stimulation needs.

Welcome Harper to the pack!

We are so excited to spend our days with this girl. She is very high energy and mom needs time to work from home and have Harper burn off all that energy in a fun environment. She is the sweetest 1yo English Springer Spaniel who loves everyone she meets and prefers a long walk over a short one.
