With turkey season starting yesterday and getting a few calls for birds to be mounted I feel it is a good time to give a progress update. There has a been a lot mounts goin out the door in the last few months and still many more to complete. I am still trying to catch up from the 2020-2021 season where I took in to much work to handle with a full time job ( learned a valuable business lesson). As of now I have 42 deer from the 2021-2022 season left, some birds and a few predators. I’ve been in the shop every night after work and long days on the weekends working to get caught up. I been averaging 3–4 deer and 1 bird a week getting mounted. Even though I’m behind I will not rush through anyone’s mount. I am returning your mounts back with high quality work that will last a lifetime. My goal is to have everyone’s mounts back by the fall ( including the small amount of work I took in last season). With that being said I will not be taking in any work for the foreseeable future and I would like to thank all my customers for the patience as I work through this.

Thank you,

As hunting season approaches I’d like to give an update on my work. I have all 2020-2021 deer mounted. Need to do finish work on the last 20 or so that I’ve mounted in the last couple weeks and they will be ready to go home. I have most of the 2021-2022 animals tanned and forms ordered. I will be starting birds and mammals next week and will finish them before I start doing last seasons deer. Due to being behind and still having a large workload to complete, I will not be taking in any work this upcoming season( except for gift certificate deer). I want to finish all work that I have at the moment before taking any more in. I wish everyone a great upcoming hunting season and hopefully will start taking in work the following season.

Hope everyone’s hunting season is starting off great! With the opening of fall bow this coming Saturday I’d like to give an update on my current workload. With taking in over 130 pieces last year I feel that I making good progress with getting everyone’s mount back within 10- 12 month time frame. I have quite a few mounts ready for finish work that will be going home in the next 2 weeks.

Also there will be some changes this coming year. My prices will increase on all work, with the price of products, shipping, etc raising I can no longer hold off raising them. Also with this being my 2nd full time job I will be taking in a set amount of pieces. Once I reach that limit anyone choosing to still have a mount done will have to wait to bring it in after all hides are tanned.

I wish everyone a successful and safe season and looking forward to another great year!
Thanks

Always looking to improve and put out a realistic piece I decided to up my game and take a bird class. I can't thank Matt Smith enough for sharing his knowledge about becoming a better taxidermist. Im very thankful for the opportunities that I've been blessed with. Looking forward to some big things in the future!

Bob Schmidt traveled from New Jersey for his 40 hour Avian Taxidermy Class last week. Bob is a Father, a Construction Foreman AND also runs a full-service Taxidermy shop. Bob's bread and butter is made on Whitetail but he was ready to take his birds up a notch. He has a great instinct, problem-solving ability and creativity. He will make a fine Birdman.💪🦆
