We’re hiring!

Zion Hill Kennel has 2 positions we are looking to fill as we are going into our busy season.

We are in need of the right candidates with availability Monday- Friday with occasional help on the weekends. Most shifts would be 8am to 4pm, but can be extended in the hours of 6am-6pm. We are able to split those shifts into working just mornings or just evening for shifts of 8am-12p and 1p-6p. Full time and part time help is available starting immediately.

Duties include but are not limited to: helping with daycare, helping with boarding dogs, potty runs, answering phones, booking appointments, feeding, giving medication, cleaning and task related to kennel work.

We are willing to train the right person. Reliability and attention to detail is a MUST! We strive to be the best kennel around and we want that same attention to detail every shift from our employees.

Apply in person, send over a resume or give us a call (ask for Lesley). Can start immediately.

Hello everyone. Lesley here reaching out to be transparent like we always have been since I opened this business. I wanted to address something with everyone.

If you what the short version- we are no longer offering $5 nail trim specials. If you want the full version keep reading.

About a year ago I started doing $5 nail trim specials for two reasons- 1) To help educate people about the importance of getting your dog’s nails done at least once a month for the health of your dog. 2) To help the community be able to do this at a discounted rate.

This was something I did out of the kindness of my heart and my passion for animals health. I did on average over 60 dogs and cats in less than 3 hours. Most of those nail trims being within the last 1 1/2 of being open. This wasn’t nails trimming. This was dremeling nails to get them as short as possible.

Unfortunately, we were met with a lot of rudeness, yelling, people demanding different times and demanding for me to add additional services at discounted rates. When we didn’t, people were down right rude to myself and my staff. This was a huge blow to my heart when I was trying to help the community and our clients and their animals.

Month after month we ran into this issue. Finally, I decided enough was enough. I made it a point to speak to everyone that we were doing away with it. We had a handful of people we kept it for who had multiple animals. Every once in a while we brought it back out to try again. Maybe it would be different. We brought it out for our daycare only clients, but even that was met with issues. So everyone was told no more.

With all this said- we charge $15 for a dremel nail trim. Flat fee. We will no longer be offering the nail trim specials. It hurts my heart, but my staff does not deserve to be yelled at or spoken to rudely because you want a discount.

Sorry to all those amazing clients we have who this was ruined for. Please know we appreciate each and every one of you.

We will continue to be the same transparent facility we have always been. If you can learn anything from this- know that 1) your dogs nail health is very important and 2) a little kindness goes a long way.

I just wanted to address some concerns we have had from people reaching out to us about the cold this weekend.

Lesley, Pam and the entire staff have spent all week preparing for this very cold weather coming our way. Yes, we have dogs and cats boarding with us at this time and they will be here all weekend. Caring for people’s pets is a 365/24/7 responsibility that we don’t take lightly. We have working heaters in all rooms. Pam and I have been talking in length about extra safety measures we will be taking to ensure all animals in our care are well cared for and each one is staying warm and hydrated. This is a 365/24/7 job and we take it very seriously. Rest assured that we will do everything in our power to continue to give every animal that comes through our door, the best love and care they deserve. Generator are on standby just in case.

Stay safe and stay warm. If there is anyone who needs a warm place this weekend for your pets, please call us. 603-859-0149.
