Not the best video but Cosmo during his visit at Ecumenical Retirement Community was bruxing and boggling the whole time. We saw our friends and made a few more tonight. Everyone complemented on how soft Cosmo was and how calm he is.
For those that dont know bruxing is when rats grind their teeth and usually this is a form of showing happiness (much like a cats purr). Boggling happens when rats grind their teeth intensely and the muscles connected to their eyes makes them pop in and out. This happens during extreme emotions.

Thought this would be beneficial to share as visits dont always go as smoothly as they appear online.
Cosmo last month at the nursing home was in Building 1 (walked from building 2 to building 1) and he started showing signs of stress. He kept trying to climb on my shoulder and climb out of his basket. I sat on a couch to the side and let him on my shoulder and pet him to help him decompress and after about a minute he climbed back in and fell asleep again ready to be petted.
Its OK to take small breaks if your animal gets anxious or stressed. Its OK to have some bumpy areas on visits so long as you do what your animal needs. Take breaks, end early, change the routine, anything to keep your animal happy and stress free. In the end your animals happiness comes first

Having some fun with the feather wand toy tonight.
Fun fact: Rats love engaging in games like chasing a feather or string much like a cat

Cosmo had a nice relaxing evening at Genesis Home of New Beginnings tonight. He even got the bonus of meeting one of the girls new guinea pig.
Obviously he was watched very closely and I wouldn't have let him sniff if I knew he would be aggressive.

Just a relaxing video of Cosmo eating.
Many ask what Cosmo eats. Cosmo and his brother mainly eat Oxbow Animal Health adult rat food and gets also fresh fruits and veggies. His favorite though are berries of any type.
