Thought this would be beneficial to share as visits dont always go as smoothly as they appear online.
Cosmo last month at the nursing home was in Building 1 (walked from building 2 to building 1) and he started showing signs of stress. He kept trying to climb on my shoulder and climb out of his basket. I sat on a couch to the side and let him on my shoulder and pet him to help him decompress and after about a minute he climbed back in and fell asleep again ready to be petted.
Its OK to take small breaks if your animal gets anxious or stressed. Its OK to have some bumpy areas on visits so long as you do what your animal needs. Take breaks, end early, change the routine, anything to keep your animal happy and stress free. In the end your animals happiness comes first
