Cotton Tails tries to help as many rabbits as possible. We do not have a facility. We rely solely on the kindness of our foster families. We are currently in desperate need of new foster homes. If approved, we will supply you with all you need to set up a foster bunny, (or two) in your home.

Also, if you have fostered for us in the past, and can offer a bit of room and some love to a bunny in need please reach out. We need you!

We currently have the two boys, (Teddy and Coco), pictured being returned to us as their family can no longer care for them. Please consider helping them or one of our other bunnies in need of a temporary or permanent home.

Please share!

☕🐰 If rabbit breeds ordered coffee... what would they choose?
Would your bun be a Brownie Batter Lionhead with major main-character energy? 🍫
An Espresso Belgian Hare who starts zooming before the sun comes up? ⚡
Or maybe a Blueberry Cobbler New Zealand White—sweet, comforting, and classic, who knows that the best things in life are worth slowing down for. 🫐💙
We had WAY too much fun matching some of our favorite rabbit breeds to Binky Bun Coffee flavors, and now we need to know...

Formerly known as Sonja (now Tessie) and Ramona (now Starlie), these two very sweet girls are embracing a beautiful new chapter and are still searching for their forever homes. 💕
Watching their transformation into gentle, loving little buns has been so special, and they continue to do wonderfully in rescue care every single day. We felt it was only fitting to give them brand new names to celebrate their fresh start and the bright future ahead of them.
Tessie and Starlie are affectionate, beautiful girls who deserve families of their very own where they can continue to thrive and be loved. 🐇
Could one of these sweet girls be your perfect match?

Why is nobody applying for Ramona & Sonja? 💔🐰
These two sweet girls have been waiting over a year for their forever homes.
Ramona and Sonja were rescued from a junkyard in New Jersey after being abandoned with several other rabbits. A kind person stepped in to save them, and one by one the others found homes… but these two are still waiting.
They are very sweet little girls who are longing for a loving family to finally come for them.
They have been overlooked for far too long, but they deserve the same happy ending as the others.
✨ Ramona and Sonja are not bonded and can be adopted separately.
Please help them get seen.

Domestic rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) have highly specialized physiological and behavioral needs that differ significantly from many other companion species. Providing species-appropriate husbandry is essential for maintaining both physical health and psychological welfare.
Rabbits are crepuscular prey animals, meaning they are most active during dawn and dusk and rely heavily on vigilance behaviors to detect potential threats. Because of this, they thrive best in secure indoor environments where stressors such as predators, extreme temperatures, and parasites are minimized.
From a behavioral standpoint, rabbits are social lagomorphs that benefit from compatible pair-bonding, which can reduce chronic stress and promote normal affiliative behaviors such as allogrooming and resting together. Environmental enrichment is equally critical—providing opportunities for foraging, digging, chewing, and exploratory locomotion allows rabbits to express species-typical behaviors and helps prevent the development of stereotypies associated with boredom or chronic stress.
Nutrition is another cornerstone of rabbit health. Rabbits possess elodont (aradicular hypsodont) dentition, meaning their teeth grow continuously throughout life. A diet consisting primarily of unlimited grass hay provides the abrasive fiber necessary for natural dental wear and supports proper hindgut fermentation and gastrointestinal motility, reducing the risk of dental malocclusion and gastrointestinal hypomotility (GI stasis).
Proper housing, social companionship, environmental enrichment, and a fiber-rich diet are not luxuries—they are fundamental welfare requirements for rabbits in human care.
🐇 Educating guardians about evidence-based rabbit husbandry is one of the most effective ways to improve long-term welfare outcomes for this often misunderstood species.
