STUDY REVEALS THE LINK BETWEEN OUR LAWNS, OUR PETS🐾, CANCER🔥 AND US

Beware pet parents: Treating your lawn with yard chemicals☠️, allowing your pet to eat or play on grass that’s been sprayed💦, or walking your pet on golf courses⛳️ can negatively affect our dog’s health, according to several studies. In fact, it can impact your entire family, as pets can bring those chemicals back inside!

In our new book, The Forever Dog, it was critical for us to highlight things in and around your home that could damage your pet’s DNA. According to Dr. David Sinclair, Professor of Genetics, and co-Director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for Biology of Aging Research at Harvard Medical School- “DNA damage speeds up aging.”

Several studies show: dogs exposed (through laying, playing, ingesting or inhalation) to treated lawns has been associated with a significantly higher bladder cancer risk, and dogs whose owners reported use of professionally applied lawn pesticides were 70 PERCENT more likely to have lymphoma (cancer). In fact, there was an even higher risk of lymphoma if owners used self-applied insect growth regulators on their yards to control cockroaches, fleas, and other pests!🐜

Our book focuses on how to raise the healthiest, happiest, long-lived dogs, and in it we teach you how to evaluate your dog’s indoor and outdoor environmental chemical exposure⚠️. In the section of the book titled Environmental Impact: The Body Burden, where we offer you tips like:

• Safer lawn-care options
• DIY non-toxic w**d killer recipes
• Home Chemical Exposure Pet checklist
• Forever Dog Foot Soak Recipe
• Supplements that support chemical clearance

We know many of you Longevity Junkies have already pre-ordered your copy of the book (thank you!!😻) but are desperate for solutions and suggestions right NOW! We put together a handy guide with gems from the book you can institute this week.

This free resource is crucial this summer if you have pets spending time outdoors because even if you don’t buy lawn chemicals, it doesn’t mean your dog isn’t being exposed. Home foot soaks after walks in parks and public spaces can go a long way in reducing your dog’s chemical exposure.

The Forever Dog is available now for pre-order all over the globe! www.ForeverDog.com/about

SO JUST HOW LONG DO YOUR PET’S SHOTS LAST?

Definitely longer than a year!

According to the top pet immunologist (aka vaccine expert) in the world, Dr. Ronald Schultz, Ph.D. – “ Annual revaccination provides no benefit and may increase the risk for adverse reactions.”

What the heck are adverse reactions (or side effects)?

Well according to the other rock star pet immunologist Dr. Jean Dodds:

“Side effects from dog vaccinations can occur anywhere from instantly up to several weeks or months later. Vaccines can even cause susceptibility to chronic diseases that appear much later in a dog’s life (Dodd, 2001).

Severe and fatal adverse reactions include:

•Susceptibility to infections.

•Neurological disorders and encephalitis.

•Aberrant behavior, including unprovoked aggression.

•Vaccines are linked to seizures. Distemper, parvovirus, rabies and, presumably, other vaccines have been linked with poly neuropathy, a nerve disease that involves inflammation of several nerves. (Dodds,2001)”

SO HOW LONG EXACTLY DOES YOUR PET’S VACCINE LAST?

According to the recommendations of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), (basically the dudes who set the standards for the vets): “Among healthy dogs, all commercially available [core] vaccines are expected to induce a sustained protective immune response lasting at least 5 yr. thereafter”

Here’s the breakdown of the core vaccines from Dr. Ronald Schultz:

Minimum Duration of Immunity for Canine Vaccines:

Distemper- 7 years by challenge
Parvovirus – 7 years by challenge
Adenovirus – 7 years by challenge
Canine rabies – 3 years by challenge

The moral of the story here, if you have no idea when your pet is due or has been vaccinated, then just run a titer test and this will confirm if you are due, rather than over-vaccinate your poor pet, setting the stage for future problems!

What’s a titer test?

A titer test (pronounced tight-errr) is a laboratory or in-house veterinary test measuring the existence and level of antibodies (necessary to fight off disease) in your pet’s blood. Basically, it’s a test that will tell you whether or not you actually need to vaccinate your pet.

It’s also super useful when making a decision about vaccinating a pet with an unknown vaccination history, or for determining if pets have received immunity from vaccination.

Vaccinating your pet is super important so don’t lose the overall message here: VACCINATE, JUST DON’T OVER-VACCINATE!

According to Dr. Dodds:

“Vaccines have achieved many important benefits for companion animals, and has saved more animals' lives than any other medical advance.”

ATTENTION Pet Parents!

A chemical used in Milk-Bones, Ol’Roy, Kibbles’n Bits, Hill’s Pet Food and other pet foods should no longer be considered safe for consumption due to concerns about its ability to damage DNA according to a new animal-model study.

According to the Environmental Working Group: “A scientific panel created by the European Food Safety Authority found that titanium dioxide “can no longer be considered as safe when used as a food additive.” The panel, citing concerns about titanium dioxide’s genotoxicity, or its ability to damage DNA, based its conclusion on a review of hundreds of scientific studies. EWG called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to quickly consider whether to ban titanium dioxide from use in food."

A chemical that may damage our pet's DNA should not be fed to pets.

Our Stella is just a little spoiled, her favorite thing to do is go for rides in my truck to pick up the kids from school. I can’t even tell her until the last minute because she whines and whines to go. Stopped at the vet to weigh her today, she weighs 106.6 lbs.

This is one of the most important things a new Dane puppy owner must know. The second thing, or arguably the first is “Bloat” it’s so important to make sure after your DANE eats (at any stage of their life) that they rest for at least 40 minutes to an hour to properly digest. A Great Dane’s stomach is floating & vulnerable to flipping and gastric torsion, so rest after breakfast or dinner is an absolute must. **Also, very important after hard play or a healthy run if your dog is still in the panting or cool down (heavy breathing) mode make sure you are not feeding during this time either as the panting and the sucking in of air can cause gastric torsion as well. The good thing is once you get your dog into this routine & used to this kind of good habit it becomes a very easy process. 🐾 ❤️

Our Story

Wilson's Texas Danes breeds quality AKC great danes that are forever a part of the family. Currently we have 8 danes and the love of the breed all started when one was received as a wedding gift 37 years ago. If you get a puppy from Wilson's Texas Danes, you can be assured they have received the utmost amazing care from the day they are born. Each puppy is fully vetted and totally ready for their fur-ever homes. Puppies are born and raised in my home underfoot. Babies are well socialized in a family environment, Supplemental Bottle feedings if necessary, to insure each puppy is well nourished. Kissed and cuddled everyday. I'm a very small breeder I do strive to improve the quality of the breed. A working progress.

We will be bringing home our 3rd fur baby from Wilson's Texas Danes in a few weeks. Anyone who is looking for a Great Dane to add to their family will be so extremely happy with one of Rhonda's babies. Our family has been so blessed to have 2 of her babies that are so extremely sweet, loving and wonderful with all of our children, especially our daughter who has severe disabilities. Our danes love to play and have fun with our family, but will immediately stop and check on our daughter the second they feel she needs assistance. Its amazing to see them so silly and playing one minute then interact with our daughter so calmly while she is having a seizure. Anybody can sell you a pet, but if you are truly looking for a quality breed "fur baby" to add to your family, then Wilson's Texas Danes is EXACTLY where you need to be! Our family cant thank you enough Rhonda R Wilson for all the happiness your babies have given us and we cant wait for our new and 3rd lil boy to come home!❤
