Getting an early start on a bucketlist project I was going to complete in 2026. Early days, but it’s technically off the ground!. Right now there is Garlic Chives, Sweetleaf Stevia, a single Eggplant, Butterfly W**d. Hoping to keep it stocked depending on the season.

There are now ButterflyW**d starter plants at the stand. This is Asclepias Tuberosa (not the controversial tropical butterfly w**d) - the photo on the right shows what they become. You can start them in the garden now, so they’ll be established in spring or you can over winter them and put them out in spring. Either way you get a head start for next year.

Today we added Sweetleaf Stevia to the starter plant shelf. This makes a great potted plant in a filtered shade area or inside in a sunny room. It is not drought or frost tolerant, but otherwise trouble free. I have mine in a 3 gallon nursery pot in a partially shady spot and it does great - I just relocate it if there is going to be a freeze. You can dry the leaves and boil them with your tea to make it naturally sweet.
