Critters R 4 Us LLC Offering dog and cat boarding, dog grooming, and personalized pet care. Jane grew up on a dairy farm in Neillsville. The kennel is heated and cooled when needed.

The owners Dennis and Jane have had animals their entire life. Dennis has many “pets “which are mostly dogs. As a y

oung man he had a pack of hunting beagles as well as bird dogs. Now he is involved with sprint sled dogs and the sport as a whole. The kennels inside are 4’x4’, professionally made as well as veterinarian approved. The safety of your pet is the number one concern. Critters strive to make your pets stay a happy one. The dogs are let out to 15’x30’ exercise pens five times a day. Critters also does dog grooming, Tuesday through Thursday by appointment. All dogs two shampoos and one condition. Included with the grooming are nails trimmed as well as ears cleaned. Dog nails can be trimmed by appointment or during the boarding stay, for $6.00. Critters hours:

Sunday 10:00am-9:00pm

Dogs $18.00 Tax Included

1 Night Minimum Charge $30.00
Special Needs $1.50/Night (medications)

Dennis also has Ceremonial White Doves and is willing to come to weddings or funerals to release the doves in the Neillsville area. Prices may vary. Please call to make an appointment.

With 2nd (or 3rd) winter here, our phone line is currently not working. Our cell service is out too. We still have Wi-Fi, but that may not last long. Still have power and plenty of propane for heat for our current customers.

What a season! A proud grandpa moment for sure. Watching my kid and grandkids out on the trail this year was something special. Every one of my mushers brought home 1st place finishes! 🏆

A big thank you to Mike M for the fast dogs and the great training trail that helped make it all possible.

And a special shoutout to Lego, the new dog on the team this year, already stepping up and moving into a leader position.

Nothing better than seeing the next generation out there doing what they love. 👏🐾

We want to sincerely thank you and your pets for trusting us with your business. Caring for animals is a way of life at CrittersR4Us, and those experiences, from farm animals to dog sled racing and training, help shape the level of care we provide every day. We are grateful for the opportunity to care for your loved pets while you travel and enjoy time away.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mandy Marksteiner for her amazing photography skills and thoughtful social media posts that help capture and share life at CrittersR4Us. And a big thank you to Chris Marksteiner for his construction expertise and the countless hours of help behind the scenes—your hard work has made a real difference and does not go unnoticed.

Looking ahead, we are excited to share that beginning in Spring 2026, our grooming parlor will be open full time. This expansion comes with our son, Kyle Marksteiner, joining the CrittersR4Us team. Kyle will be starting professional grooming classes at the beginning of the year and expects to begin offering grooming services, with availability during boarding as scheduling allows.

Kyle has worked with animals throughout his life, helping with the boarding kennel, grooming parlor, and dog sled racing and training. In 2008, Kyle began a career as an aircraft mechanic and has since “retired” from aviation to join the family business. We’re excited to bring his strong attention to detail, work ethic, and fresh perspective into the pet care services we provide.

While Jane held down the fort caring for all your beloved pets 🐶🐱, Dennis was away enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime experience — being a spectator at the IFSS World Championship Sleddog Races right here in Minocqua, Wisconsin!

This incredible event brought mushers and dog teams from around the world to compete dryland racing!

It’s truly amazing to see this level of teamwork and excitement happening right in our own backyard — and such a treat for anyone who loves dogs and adventure. 🐕💨

The World Championships don’t often make it to the U.S., and it was a proud moment for Wisconsin to host! Here’s a quick look at where the last events were held:
