We’ve been in a swirl of some cold, snowy weather in New England for a few weeks ❄️☃️ Even with weather warming up (for now…) it’s important to keep your pups protected! Don’t forget these safety tips when taking them outside:
🧥 Suit up your pup! A cozy coat helps keep them warm during snowy walks.
🐾 Paw wax or snow boots = healthy feet. Protect paws from ice, snow buildup, and freezing temps.
🧂 Watch for sidewalk salt! It can irritate paws and is harmful if licked—wipe feet after every walk.
⏱️ Always check the temperature & keep walks shorter in extreme cold to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.
🧊 Avoid frozen lakes and ponds—ice isn’t always as solid as it looks.
🏠 Dry them off completely when you get home (especially paws, belly, and ears).
💧 Stay hydrated! Dogs still need water even in cold weather.
🐶 Know your breed. Smaller, short-haired, and senior dogs can get cold faster.
❤️ When in doubt, keep it quick and cozy—safety first, tail wags always.
Stay safe & have fun!
