On SATURDAY, AUGUST 22ND, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Snazzy Paws is throwing our 2nd Annual CHARITY DOG WASH to benefit American Legion Post 493 right here in Nederland and support our local active duty military and veterans.

We’re turning our little corner of Nederland Ave. into a mini block party:
• Charity dog wash at Snazzy Paws
• American Legion Post 493 on-site cooking hot links and selling drinks
• Live music from Chris “Flatfoot” Curtis from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

📣 BIG PERK FOR PLANNERS:
PRE-BOOK YOUR DOG’S BATH BEFORE EVENT DAY AND A NAIL TRIM IS INCLUDED WITH THEIR BATH SERVICE.
Walk-ins are absolutely welcome all day – if you wake up and decide “yeah, the dog needs a bath and I need a hot link,” just come on.

Dog wash includes:
• Bath
• Blow dry
• Quick brush
• Ear cleaning

A few quick notes:
• No double-coated pets for this event
• Pet parents need to stay on-site with their pup (no drop-offs)
• Turnaround time is usually about 15–30 minutes

Here’s the part that matters most to us: this isn’t just a dog wash. It’s our town showing up for the people who’ve worn the uniform for us. Every bath, every hot link, every song out front helps American Legion Post 493 keep doing what they do for our local military and veteran families. Don’t have a pup? You’re still invited.
Come grab lunch, listen to live music, say hi, and just spend part of your Saturday with us. Thank you so much to everyone who came out this weekend to support our local veterans – whether you brought your pups for a wash, grabbed barbecue plates, or just stopped by to hang out. The dogs were adorable, the food was great, and the folks who showed up made it worth all the work. I’ll be posting pictures of the pups we caught on camera, and a big shoutout to the Combat Vets for coming out and backing the cause. From all of us at Snazzy Paws, thank you for standing up for the people who stood up for us.

Some of the bravest people in our community came home, hung up the uniform, and quietly went back to life. No parades, no spotlight, just scars we don’t see and freedoms we use every single day. We get to wake up in our own beds, kiss our families, argue about what to watch on TV… because they signed their name on a line that could have cost them everything. Next Saturday, July 25th, Snazzy Paws is throwing a big, soapy, loud THANK YOU in their honor. It’s our Annual Charity Dog Wash benefiting our local veterans, and we’re going all in this year. Baths, bubbles, nail trims, live music from Chris Hantz, BBQ from Combat Vets, a bake sale, raffle prizes, and a whole lot of wet dog kisses. Every dollar raised goes right back into the veterans who live right here in the Golden Triangle. Bring your pups. Bring your friends. Share this post. We will be closed July 18, 2026 as we are participating at the Houston Dog show come out and see us. You can bring your babies and just have a good time all kinds of vendors and shopping to do as well. Starting July 2026 we are by appointment only but we can also take same-day appointments. We will no longer do walk-ins unless it’s just for a single service for example nail trims, nail grinds, toothbrushing. We do enjoy being able to give our clients specialty care and treatment, so we have chosen to rescheduled by appointment. Thank you for understanding, and that we strive to always provide great quality of care to your pets..

Today was a ‘sharpen the tools’ day for Bennie & I. We spent our Sunday over at Backwood Grooming renewing my PetTech Pet CPR and First Aid certification. I’ve worked alongside vets and medically fragile, senior, and special‑needs pets for years, and it is a huge priority to me that your babies get more than just a cute haircut – they deserve careful, safety‑focused, compassionate care every step of the way. I’m always working to raise the quality of care I can give them, so keeping my skills current means that while your pet is being groomed, I’m also watching for early signs of trouble and ready to respond quickly if the unexpected ever happens. Thank you to Backwood Grooming and PetTech for hosting a solid class and giving groomers one more layer of safety to bring back to our clients.
