We thermal images the eggs in the incubator last night and hoping we may now have a way to tell if eggs are progressing. You can not candle emu eggs due to their dark coloring. Interesting enough we also imaged an egg that was only out in three days ago and they look different without a gold glow! I will be keeping track along the way to see if my method works!

Some of our birds are incredibly friendly and super sweet. These are many reasons of why we love these birds so much.

We are so happy all of the birds are getting along! It’s a long process to merge everyone is the safest way possible. My emu momma heart is happy!

Well today is moving day! We aren’t getting eggs anymore (minus one last night) and hormones have calmed down a lot here so we are now combining three mobs into one! Our older gals from Oklahoma, our few younger family and our originals all together! This makes feeding a lot easier for use and less locations to go too. Super happy to have them together. So now we watch and make sure everyone does good together. They’ve had serval months of looking at each other through a fence so we believe it will go smoothly!

Emus are Australia’s mighty runners, capable of reaching speeds up to 50 km/h! 🏃‍♂️

With powerful legs and incredible stamina, they can outrun horses over long distances.

Standing over 1.8 meters tall, they are the second-largest birds in the world, right after ostriches.

Though flightless, emus use their speed, endurance, and strong kicks to survive. Their fascinating behavior makes them both quirky and formidable outback icons.
