Lance is our UPS man. He is a member of Freedom Equine and has been an apart of the family since we opened. If we have seen your horse, there is a near certain chance, Lance delivered the meds. He might also be the biggest Cowboys fan I know. He is a big reason we are successful. So happy for Lance!

Thank you to our UPS Driver Lance Marucci for not only delivering the game ball to AT&T Stadium, but for his dedicated service to the community as a UPS driver of 12 years.

Here is the latest details on the EHV-1 outbreak.

Brief, general recommendations from Freedom Equine
1) limit all horse movement on and off property as much as possible
2) If you horse hasn’t received a EHV (Rhino) vaccine in the past 4 months, we strongly advise boostering your horses’ vaccines.
3) Practice good biosecurity. Don’t let your horses mingle, share water buckets, tack, or wash areas with horses that are not yours.
4) if horse have been off property in the past 10 days, take temperatures twice per day. Any temperature over 101.5F at rest is considered a fever.

This list is not complete. See attached websites for more information.

Due to the fast pace nature of this outbreak, information will be changing rapidly. Follow Texas Animal Health Commission for updates. We will try our best to keep up with the latest information.

Happy Fourth of July! It’s our favorite holiday at Freedom Equine!

Please keep the Texas Hill Country in your prayers. Prayers for the missing and their families.

We would like to offer our condolences to the family of Sgt. Butler of the Navasota PD. Sgt Butler heroically gave his life protecting the people of Navasota yesterday. We could not do our job and help horses and their owners without people like Sgt Butler. Please say a prayer for him and his family.

The fourth pillar of my practice is care. This is what care looks like. Meeting a patient at 5:30am to solve an emergent problem before the horse leaves for a world show. And getting a little Crue in at the same time. For the folks outside of Texas, yes it is really 74 at 5am in late October.

Today we celebrate 1 year since opening the doors of Freedom Equine. We have been beyond blessed by the client support. All we can say is Thank You for helping us launch our little dream.

We will continue to operate underneath our four pillars.
We Listen.
We Look.
We Educate.
We Care.

We look forward to continuing the serve horses and their people horses through high quality Performance Medicine. On to year 2.

Being an ambulatory practice has unexpected surprises. Like the romp of three otters crossing the road yesterday near Brookeshire. Didn’t have that on the farm call bingo card. (And I love the fact a group of otters can be called a romp. It fit those three.). I’m only sad I wasn’t fast enough to get a picture.
