7/2/25 July 4th is almost here! Are you and your dog prepared if something were to happen? July 4th is the busiest time of the year for Lost Dogs. Having some of these simple items for your dog could save you lots of heartache.

1. Look over your dog's leash and collar hardware- are clasps, hooks wearing out?
2. What about your pup's ID tags- can you read them? Is your town license that's on their collar up to date?
3. Is your dog microchipped? Is the chip's registration up to date? And did you know, a microchip is only as good as its current up to date registration and a microchip is NOT a GPS device!

We walk on grass and take breaks in the shade whenever possible. We do shorter walks and then enjoy quality time inside!

Did you know that asphalt can get extremely hot in the summer and burn your pet's paws?

Here's how to protect them:

🔥 Test the pavement with the back of your hand. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your pet.
🚶 Walk your pets on grass or shaded areas whenever possible.
👢 Consider protective booties for their paws during walks.
⛅ Walk your pets early in the morning or late in the evening when the ground is cooler.
🐾 Let's keep those paws safe and comfortable this summer! 🐾
