🌿🐢 Help Reptiles & Amphibians Thrive in Your Backyard! ☀️🐍

As summer heats up, reptiles and amphibians need safe, welcoming spaces to survive—and YOU can help, right at home!

Here’s what you can do:
✅ Provide shade & shelter – Logs, rocks, and native plants offer cool hiding spots.
✅ Avoid pesticides – Toxins harm h**ps and the insects they depend on.
✅ Create shallow water sources – Clean, low water dishes or garden ponds support hydration and breeding.
✅ Leave leaf litter & brush piles – These are essential microhabitats for frogs, toads, and lizards.
✅ Be mindful when mowing – Check for basking or burrowed reptiles before landscaping.

🌍 Studies show that even small gardens can become important microhabitats when managed with native species and minimal chemicals. Homeowners can truly play a role in boosting local reptile and amphibian populations through small, intentional actions!

Let’s make this summer safer for our scaly and slimy neighbors. 🐸

🦎 Meet Me Monday...ish 😅 (Yes, we know it’s Tuesday)

Better late than never—especially when it’s time to meet the Iguana! 🐊💚

These leafy-loving lizards are the kings and queens of chill, basking under the sun with an attitude that screams, “I’ll get to it... eventually.” Native to Central and South America, green iguanas are expert climbers, plant-eaters, and professional loungers.

They might look like tiny dinosaurs, but they’re surprisingly social and can recognize their humans—especially if you show up with a salad. 🥬

So let’s pretend it’s still Monday and celebrate this charismatic, spiny superstar anyway!
