They are slow growing tumors that do not metastasize but can be locally invasive. Thank you Memphis Veterinary Specialists for the referral. 🏥

A 5 year old feline presented for evaluation of possible signs of oral pain and inflammation. Over the last 2 months, it appears that some degree of inflammation has progressed since the initial consultation. Due to the periodontal changes found, the effected teeth were surgically extracted. These extraction sites have been surgically closed with absorbable suture. Thank you VCA PetMed Animal Hospital for the referral. 🐈

Aurora from Nashville Humane Association presented for a non-healing draining tract on her face. Cone beam CT showed significant periapical pathology on all 3 roots of this tooth. The root lesions had breached the overlying bone and were likely the source of the draining tract. We extracted this tooth to remove infection. The draining tract should resolve now that this tooth has been removed. Aurora should be feeling better in no time! 🐩

A 2 year old canine presented after an unwitnessed trauma resulted in multiple maxillofacial + dentoalveolar injuries. The upper jaw and face had numerous bony fractures, including bones supporting the right eye and those housing teeth. The two halves of the maxilla were also separated slightly. The lower jaw stabilization involved wiring of the left and right mandibles for symphyseal separation repair. Tape muzzles will help protect and support any nondisplaced fractures. Thank you Clarksville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital for the referral. 🚨

A carious lesion (cavity) was discovered after scaling. Cone Beam CT showed that all three roots of this molar had abscessed and the tooth was extracted. 👻🫣
