Well folks, though it has been over for a while now, it is now “official”. We have lost Trixie and Maximus in a matter of one month’s time. Maximus was the one puppy that we kept off of Lagos, my longtime K-9 partner and kennel namesake. We lost Trixie after a battle of cancer a month ago. This weekend, we lost Max. He didn’t appear to be sick or anything. Sherri said that he died of a broken 💔 😢. They are now buried on our property, side by side forever. For those that were fortunate to get a puppy off of these two, consider yourself blessed. They literally loved each other and created the perfect looking and mild mannered puppies. Thank you to our loyal customers and our followers over the years. This will be our final post for this page.

Announcement from VLK:
Over the previous days it was becoming obvious that either Trixie was not bred during her last cycle or she lost her puppies during pregnancy. She stopped showing physical signs of pregnancy. Yesterday she birthed 2 puppies that were not alive and they did not appear to be normal size. She didn't have any more during the day. She didn't exhibit any physical distress during the process. It is unclear what may have happened as she has always had large, healthy litters.

For everyone that has been messaging us about securing a puppy, I am very sorry to say that there will be no puppies available this year. Decisions will be made soon as to the future of VLK, as we were planning on this being our last litter.

We have had a ton of inquiries lately on whether or not we are expecting puppies soon. If the breeding process was successful last month, we should have puppies around the middle of next month. Trixie has put on some weight quickly, so we feel fairly certain that she may be pregnant but as usual she waits until the last 2 weeks to really begin showing physical signs. Stay tuned because our puppies get reserved quickly once we start showing them, and they will be ready for Christmas!!!

Maximus Von Lagos is the direct offspring of Lagos, my late personal retired police canine. He reminds me so much of him. He was pouting in this picture this afternoon because he wanted to be in the kennel with his gal. He and Trixie have a history of producing some beautiful,energetic pups with outstanding temperaments. We can't wait until October.

It's the "magic hour". Maximus Von Lagos and Trixie Von Nash went on a little date just now. They will go on a few more over the next couple of days, but I would say in about 60 days or so from now we should be looking at some beautiful black/tan babies! If you're interested in owning a puppy from Von Lagos Kennels, the time for preparing is now. Trixie (pictured on the right) is coming into heat as I type this. Maximus (pictured on left) is anxiously awaiting. If things go as planned, that will put a litter of AKC GSD pups here in October and ready to go by Christmas! What better Christmas gift is there? My previous customers can attest that you won't find a better companion that a VLK puppy. Stay tuned for more updates!
