Happu Sunday friends! ❤️

Well last night was more of the same as during the day, just being lazy and relaxing! I was still recovering from my anaphylactic episode, so I spent the whole day relaxing! Last night grandma and Maggie came home around 9pm, and me, Mama and Daddy were all sitting on the couch waiting to greet them! Maggie was so happy to see us and she ran in to get love from Mama and Daddy and sniff me! I sniffed Maggie all over and gave her big kisses on her face!

After Grandma and Maggie settled into being home Daddy called in some takeout Chinese food, then he left to go pick it up! When Daddy got back it was still a little too early for my dinner time, so Mama and Daddy made their plates and sat down to eat and I snuggled up between them and closed my eyes while I waited for my dinner time! When Mama and Daddy finished their dinner Daddy cleared their plates while Mama got to work making my doggie dinner just the way I like it and giving me my night time meds!

I ate my whole dinner, then when I was done Maggie came to clean up after me a lick the bowl! Daddy wiped my face when I was done eating then I went to Grandmas room and Mama lifted me up on Grandma’s bed while her and Mama talked for a few minutes! I was being very nibbly and rolled all over Grandma’s bed nibbling on her blankets and pillows being a silly playful boy! Soon it was time for Maggie’s dinner, so me and Mama went to the living room so Maggie could eat in peace! If I’m in the room Maggie eats frantically and acts like Im going to steal her food, even though I would never do that!

It was just about bedtime, so Daddy took me potty outside and I waddled my was back inside! I jumped back up on the couch while Mama packed up all the takeout, and then it was fine for bed! Daddy scooped me up and carried me to bed and then I got my nightly scratch down from Mama and Daddy! They scratched me all over, rubbed my belly, and rubbed my ears which is my favourite part of the bed time routine! When my scratch down was done I could hardly hold my eyes open, so Mama and Daddy kissed me all over my face and head then I snuggled into Mama and laid my head on her belly!

Daddy went to go get ready for bed, and when he came back to bed a little while later I woke up to see Daddy brought me some frozen treats along with some popsicles for himself and Mama! We all had our delicious frozen snacks, and I snuggled back up between Mama and Daddy for a good nights sleep!

In the morning me, Mamq and Daddy all slept till about 11:30, then it was time for us to get up so we could go to to the farmers market! I stayed in bed as long as I could, and Mama even brought me my breakfast and my morning meds to bed! After Mama and Daddy were all ready for the day, Daddy pulled me out of bed and we got ready to go! Just as we were leaving Maggie and Grandma got up, so Mama let Maggie outside to go potty, then we said goodbye to them and Daddy loaded me up in the truck! I was so eager to get to the farmers market and when we got there I couldn’t wait to get out of the truck!

At the farmers market we didn’t have much time before they closed, so we went over and Mama bought some veggies, then we did a quick lap around the farmers market and I got to meet two other pups, one who had a underbite like me! She was so pretty! We said our goodbyes and headed back to the truck, then Daddy drove us to the dog park! When we got there it was starting to sprinkle, but I still went in and said hello to the other dogs and ran around a bit! There was a couple really sweet pups who sniffed me all over and I ran around with them and explored the dog park!

After a little while I got pretty tired, so Daddy and Mama said it was time to head home! I didn’t want to leave, so Daddy carried me out of the park and loaded me up in the truck! The AC felt sooo good on the ride home since I was so hot from running around! On the way home we made a quick stop at home depot so Mama could grab a couple more squash plants, and some seeds for the birds outside! Of course I was so happy to explore around home depot because I love it there, and I got lots of love from the staff! After home depot Daddy loaded me up in the truck, and we headed back home!

When we got home it was raining pretty hard, so Daddy rushed me inside so I wouldn’t get wet! Mama gave me some frozen treats when I got back inside and Maggie got some too! A big thunder storm rolled through and it down poured for a little bit, so Maggie was very scared, but she stayed on the couch with me, Mama and Daddy and we all gave her lots of love and made her feel safe! When the storm was over Maggie was feeling much better, so Mama brought us to the kitchen and made us some eggs as an afternoon snack!

Once the eggs were all cooked and cooled down Mama cut them up for us and then Grandma came to the kitchen to give me and Maggie our eggs while Mama and Daddy snuck out the door! Mama and Daddy gave me tons of kisses, then they left while I ate my eggs and I hardly even noticed they left! Mama and Daddy had to go to the suit rental place to pick out Daddy’s suit for the wedding, so Grandma babysat me while they were gone! While Mama and Daddy were gone I curled up in a ball on the couch and closed my eyes, and Maggie slept on the couch right next to me!

Mama and Daddy were only gone for about an hour and a half, and now they have one less thing to worry about with the wedding coming up! When they walked in the door both me and Maggie jumped off the couch and wiggle all around like crazy! We were so happy to see Mama and Daddy, and they both gave us so much love! Daddy and Mama relaxed in the living room for a little bit, and me and Maggie sat together on the couch with Mama while her and Daddy watched TV! We had some nice relax time, and then later in the evening Mama and Daddy said we had to go get in the truck to go pick up takeout, so Daddy loaded me up in the truck and we went on an adventure to pick up Mama and Daddy’s dinner!

I can’t wait till we pick up the food, because Mama and Daddy always give me the french fry tax! We should have the food any minute and I’m so excited! I hope you all had a wonderful day today! Goodnight everyone and sweet puppy dreams! I wuvs you all bunches!! 🥰🐾❤️

Happy Saturday friends! ❤️

Last night as many of you may have saw from yesterday’s post, I had a very bad allergic reaction! I was in anaphylaxis while Mama was home alone with me with no vehicle, which was terrifying for my entire family! When Daddy finally left work and got home he rushed me and Mama to the emergency vet! Our usual emergency vet is about 45 minutes away, but when Mama called them to tell them we were on our way they told Mama about a new place that just opened 3 weeks ago, and it was another 24 hour emergency vet clinic only about 15 minutes from home, so we went there instead!

Mama called them ahead, so when we got there they were expecting me! The new clinic was so nice, and the staff got me in to see the doctor as soon as we walked in the door! Did you know anaphylaxis can cause organ damage? It causes a significant drop in blood pressure which can cause oxygen rich blood to not be able to supply vital organs with the oxygen they need! Mama and Daddy didn’t know this, but as soon as we got to the vet they came up with a plan to check my organs to make sure everything was functioning okay!

The vets did an ultrasound to check my gallbladder which looked okay, then they did some blood work to check a level for my liver. The results came back saying I was borderline for being in the liver damage window, which was very scary! Mama and Daddy decided to do one more test to get a better look at my liver, and thankfully when that one came back it looked better! To be safe I’m still on a bland diet for the next few days to give my body time to bounce back from such a serious case of anaphylaxis! I also got an injection of steroids to help with the swelling, and the vet instructed Mama to continue my Benadryl for the next few days.

Finally around 11:30pm we were able to come home. The staff at this new veterinary hospital called Granite VETS were absolutely incredible! They all gave me such great care and so much love! It’s so nice knowing that there’s a new 24 hour vet near home for time sensitive situations like an allergic reaction! When we got home I was so tired, and it was pouring outside! Daddy carried me inside from in the truck and put me down on the couch. Mama went to talk to Grandma and tell her what was going on with me while Daddy cuddled with me on the couch!

After a while I got up and went to Grandmas room to see her, Maggie and Mama and then Mama lifted me up on the bed so Grandma could give me some kisses and look at how much better my facial swelling was looking! I was still pretty puffy, but I was way better than I was before! Grandma gave me lots of love and Maggie sniffed me all over, then me and Mama said goodnight and we went to the kitchen! Mama got to work warming up my bland canned food from the vet and mixing it with some warm bone broth and my probiotic powder. I ate my whole dinner when Mama gave it to me because I was just so hungry!

Mama and Daddy heated up some leftover American chop suey for their dinner, and while Mama warmed it up Daddy made Dusters wet food dinner! Mama and Daddy went to sit down and I followed them to the couch and Daddy picked me up so I could get comfy on the couch! I close my eyes while Mama and Daddy ate, and when they were all done Daddy took me potty! It was still pouring, so Daddy held the umbrella over me the whole time we were outside! When we came back in Daddy carried me to bed because I was just so sleepy!

Once in bed Mama and Daddy gave me my nightly scratch down, and when it was all done I snuggled up to Mama held me close while I slept and she was just so happy to hear my soft gentle breathing, especially after such a scary ordeal earlier in the day. Daddy went to get ready for bed and when he came back to bed he brought me some frozen treats, and some popsicles for himself and Mama! We all ate our frozen snackies, then I crawled up behind Mamas pillow and nuzzled my head into her neck and shoulder and fell right asleep! Mama fell asleep shortly after while listening to the sound of my breathing!

In the morning Mama and Daddy and me all slept in pretty late! Maggie and Grandma got up early and left for a big day of errands and finalising details on her new house, so when we woke up the house was quiet! Mama was sooo relieved to see my facial swelling was much better than it was when we fell asleep! I stayed in bed with Daddy while Mama got up and got me my morning meds along with some Benadryl, and then I got my morning meds and my breakfast in bed because I was still really tired and didn’t want to get up!

Eventually after lots of cuddling and lots of kisses Daddy said I had to go potty, so Daddy scooped me up and took me outside! When I came back inside Daddy sat on the floor with me in the living room and gave me lots of love! Mama and Daddy keep telling me about how thankful they are that I’m okay after giving them such a scare last night! Eventually Mama went to go get in the shower, and I followed Mama to the bathroom and I stayed right by her side and kept her company just outside the shower! When Mama was all done I went to the living room with Daddy!

Daddy went to the kitchen and cut up an apple, so of course he shared it with me! Me and Daddy crunched up all the yummy apple slices, and then Mama came to cuddle with me while Daddy went and got in the shower! After Daddy got out of the shower he got dressed then gave me and Mama a big kiss as he headed to the grocery store for a few things! I was a little sad when Daddy left and I laid at the door, but after a few minutes I got up to cuddle with Mama while we waited for Daddy to come back!

Once Daddy got home I jumped off the couch and wiggled all around like crazy! I even grabbed my tug of war toy and brought it to Daddy and we started playing together! It was so much fun! Mama and Daddy were so happy to see me having some energy too! After me and Daddy stopped playing I followed Mama to the kitchen to inspect all the groceries, and I supervised Mama while she put everything away! When Mama was putting away the groceries she saw Daddy got me a pack of Ben and Jerrys peanut butter pretzel doggie ice cream!

Daddy grabbed one of the doggie ice creams and sat down in the living room and gave it to me! Of course I made a huge mess, but that’s okay because Daddy cleaned it up after and wiped my face! It was sooo yummy! The rest of the afternoon was pretty lazy and relaxing, and I spent most of the evening on the couch with Mama and Daddy just taking it easy! Now it’s getting dark out, and Grandma and Maggie should be home shortly so I’ll be happy to say hello to them and show Grandma how much better my swelling is since last night!

Hello friends! Just a little update after my scary anaphylaxis episode last night!

We got home a couple minutes before midnight and I was sooo exhausted! In my post tonight I’ll explain more about what the vet said, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m doing much better!

I got a steroid injection along with more Benadryl and my face was still pretty swollen when I went to bed last night, but after waking up this morning my facial swelling is almost all gone!

Happy Friday friends! ❤️

Last night Grandma got home before Daddy, and when the front door open me and Maggie both went crazy wiggling for Grandma and saying hello! Mama thought I was going to tire myself out and not save any wiggles for Daddy, but I proved Mama wrong when Daddy came home a few minutes later and I got all crazy and wiggly all over again! I didn’t even let Daddy make it all the way in the house before I grabbed a tug of war toy and ran to Daddy to get him to play with me! Daddy put his cooler down and we got started on a match of tug of war!

After a while Daddy finally gave up, and I was pretty tired from all the wiggles, so I laid down in the middle of the floor and relaxed for a bit while Daddy changed out of his work clothes! Me and Mama went to the bedroom after a while and hung out with Daddy for a bit while him and Mama talked about wedding stuff! Soon it was my dinner time, so Mama brought me to the kitchen and gave me a delicious dinner with some salmon mixed in! Mama split up the last of the salmon so I could have half with my dinner, and Maggie could have the other half with her dinner!

Daddy came to the kitchen too and he started making Dusters wet food dinner while Mama started making some corn on the cob! After Daddy finished feeding Duster he started up the grill, and grilled some steak tips for me and Maggie! After grilling the steak Daddy went back outside and threw some BBQ chicken drumsticks on the grill for himself and Mama! Daddy was outside grilling for a while, and Mama cut up some of the steak for me and Maggie and gave us each a few big bites! It was soooo delicious! Me and Maggie love steak so much, especially when it’s fresh and warm and juicy!

Daddy finally finished grilling and then him and Mama got ready to eat a little after midnight! They made their plates and went to the living room and i jumped up on the couch with Mama and Daddy! I closed my eyes and relaxed while Mama and Daddy ate their dinner, and when they were all done it was time for bed! Daddy took me potty, then we said goodnight to Grandma and Maggie and Daddy carried me to bed!
As always I got my full body scratch down, ear rubs, and belly rubs once I got in bed from both Mama and Daddy, along with about a million smooches all over my face!

When my scratch down was all done I snuggled up into Mama and closed my eyes while Daddy got ready for bed! When Daddy came back to bed, it was frozen treat time! Daddy brought me some of Mamas homemade frozen treats, and Mama and Daddy had some popsicles! When we were all done our frozen snackies I snuggled up between Mama and Daddy, and Mama wrapped me in a bear hug and fell asleep holding me! I was extra snuggly last night with Mama and of course she loved it! I used Mama as a pillow most of the night and she held my big body so we were nice and warm together! Duster came to bed too, and he slept on top of Daddy’s lap so Daddy could hardly move all night!

In the morning Daddy woke up first to go get a hair cut and mow the front lawn since the grass was getting a little crazy, then Daddy came back inside and woke me and Mama up to start our day! I was all sprawled out in the middle of the bed while Mama and Daddy gave me a big big belly rub and lots of good morning kisses! Mama went to pack Daddy’s lunch and get my breakfast ready, and I stayed in bed till Daddy was all ready for work then he scooped me up and took me potty outside! It was garbage truck day today, which was very scary, so I made my potty trip as quick as possible and waddled my t***y back inside as quick as I could!

When I got back inside Mama and Daddy told me how brave I was for going outside with the scary garbage trucks! I went to the kitchen with Mama and she gave me my morning meds and my breakfast which I happily gobbled up! After breakfast it was time for Daddy to leave, so Mama and me gave him some big goodbye kisses and then he was off to work! After Daddy left I was still pretty freaked out about the garbage trucks, so I went down the hallways and pushed Grandma’s door open and went to lay down in her room with her while Mama went outside to water her plants and check on everything outside!

When Mama came back inside Grandma, Maggie and me were just coming out of Grandmas room! Mama got to work addressing the last of her wedding invites and doing a few other last minute wedding planning things, and me and Maggie lounged around the living room! After a while Mama got up and made some waffles for herself and Grandma, and me and Maggie got a little deli turkey meat while they ate their waffles! After snack time Mama and Grandma went back to the living room and spent a little time talking together while me and Maggie closed our eyes!

Eventually Grandma got up to take Maggie for a walk before the rain started, and I stayed snuggled up with Mama! For those of you who are newer followers, Grandma and Maggie are staying with me, Mama and Daddy temporarily while Grandma has a plot of land cleared and a house built! Grandma is expecting to be in her new house around late fall early winter. This week the contractors have gotten a lot of work done on Grandmas land and gotten a lot cleared and levelled out, so Grandma and Maggie decided to take a trip and go check out the land this afternoon! Grandmas land is about 55 minutes away, so they also planned on running some other errands while they were out.

Me and Mama said goodbye to Maggie and Grandma and they left for the day! After they left Mama went to the hutch in the kitchen and filled up one of my treat dispenser toys for me to play with! I happily took my toy and rolled it all over the house eating all the yummy treats that fell out! While I played with my toy Mama did lots of cleaning and organising around the house. After I finished with my toy I went back to find Mama and then I went and laid down in the hallways while Mama swept all the floors! When Mama was all done she went to the kitchen to make herself a snack!

This is when the normal day took a turn for the worst Mama saw me go to the door, so Mama put my rain coat on and took me potty. When we got outside it started to seem like my belly problems were coming back and I was having some potty issues! Since it was raining I made my potty trip outside as quick as possible, and then I came back inside. Mama was so worried about my belly! I’ve been all better for around two weeks and Mama didn’t want to see my belly issues get bad again! Just them, the day got even worse!

Mama noticed me acting strange when we got back inside, she went down the hallway and saw a big pile of vomit, which Mama thinks I did right before we went outside, but that wasn’t even the problem! Mama looked at me closely because I was acting extremely itchy, and that’s when Mama noticed a bunch of hives on my face and my face swelling! Mama immediately ran to the kitchen and got me 3 Benadryl and quickly gave them to me with some peanut butter before inspecting me further! The more Mama looked the more hives she could see, literally hundreds of hives of all different sizes covering my entire body, especially my belly, neck, face and head and my face was swelling rapidly!

Mama started panicking, because we were stuck at home with no vehicle and Mama was so terrified I was going to stop breathing! I was in Grandmas room at first pawing at my skin and rolling around like I wanted to tear my skin off because I was so itchy! Mama tried to calm me down and relax my breathing because I was really getting worked up! Mama tried to comfort me the best she could but all we could do was wait for the Benadryl to help! Meanwhile more and more hives kept covering my body, and my skin was turning bright red! My face was also extremely swollen to the point where I could hardly open my eyes!

I moved to the bathroom and laid on the bath mat and of course Mama stayed by my side the entire time. Eventually I got up and moved to the bedroom and laid at the floor at the end of the bed and at this point I stopped trying to itch my skin and just laid still, but my breathing was still really heavy even as I just laid still and Mama was still terrified. It had been about 30 minutes since I got my Benadryl, and Mama slowly watched the redness start to get a little better on my skin. As more time went on my belly hives started to get a tiny bit better. Well over half of my body was covered in hives but they started to decrease in size.

About an hour after taking the Benadryl my breathing started to improve, and Mama finally started to take a breath of relief. Mama was trying to stay calm for me, but she was fighting tears and a panic attack the entire time. I was acting extremely groggy but kept trying to nuzzle into Mama, so Mama stood up and stood me up then with all her strength she picked me up on the bed so I could get more comfortable. I immediately nuzzled into the bed and closed my eyes, which didn’t take much to do because they were almost swollen shut!

At this point my hives were way way smaller, and my belly and feet weren’t nearly as red as they were, but my face was still extremely swollen. My howls and cheeks were so swollen the skin was tight and they were at least twice the size they normally are. Mama cuddled close to me on the bed and just held me while we both took some deep breaths after the terrifying ordeal. I have had hives and allergic reactions before, but never this bad. The vet thinks it’s from some sort of insect bite, but there’s no way of knowing what insect unless Mama sees it happen which is almost impossible, and even she knew what kind it would be even more impossible to prevent since it happens randomly from just being in the yard!

I have a vet appointment next week and Mama is going to see if we can get some emergency allergy meds, possibly something injectable or at least a liquid that will take effect quicker just in case this ever happens again. On top of my scary allergic reaction, Mama is also very worried about my belly problems and she’s really hoping that was just a fluke and maybe just a tiny belly ache and not my full belly problems from before coming back, but only time will tell!

For now, Grandma will be home soon, and Daddy will be too, and hopefully by the time they get home my facial swelling will be a little better! Just in case you are sensitive to things like allergic reactions I’m going to put any pictures of my swelling or hives at the end of this post, so don’t scroll to the end of these pictures if you don’t want to see them! Mama took multiple pictures and videos so she can show the vet next week at my appointment! When Daddy gets home, which should be any minute, he’s going to drive me and Mama to the emergency vet so I can get a steroid injection to help with the swelling and get me feeling better. Hopefully our trip at the emergency vets will be quick so I can get feeling better asap!
