When I started using acupuncture in 1995, I felt like I was on an island alone!! Now, I am sharing with you the case I am sharing with my colleagues around the world! Great minds and hearts who have the passion to help others! What an amazing time to practice. Sorry for the “vet speak”, but I wanted you to know that resources abound and this is how we learn from each other!!

Good morning, this is Murphy. He is a 9 year old QH Gelding. He was diagnosed with DSLD a few months ago. He is painful, lays down a lot, shifts weight often while standing. The left hind fetlock is dropped more than the right and is thickened up to the hock. Murphy is the Earthiest of Earth horses! Sweet and kind and a beloved member of his family. He was treated for the 2nd time today.
Tongue seems pink and more thin than full.
Submandibular pulse is bilaterally symmetrical and full and round as an earthworm:)

Treatments:

Laser - Dr. Youkey’s favorite saved program hock to fetlock

Acupuncture - KI1, BL 67, GB 44, LV 1, Four gates, KI 27, GB DTC with B12, Shen Shu, BaiHue with B12, LV13, GB25, SP21, BL 13,14,18, LI16

Herbs - Delivered Jing Tang Ligament and Tendon to him today to begin.

Magnawave over the top line - BL 13 to 54 area.

Look at this beautiful girl!! Spice is just under a year old and she’s a busy heifer! As a show girl, she is busy growing herself, growing a calf as she was recently bred, and busy traveling and competing in shows!
Her owners know the stress she is under!
So what’s happening here for her today??
1. Chiropractic adjustment to keep her pelvis aligned and her nervous system free to function properly.
2. Acupuncture - selected points to tonify the pelvis, muscles, and ligaments. Points like BL 13 help stimulate immune system. In Chinese medicine BL 13 stimulates the Wei Qi which protects us from external pathogens. Spice will be exposed to many external pathogens and increased stress when she travels and competes.
3. Magnawave also helps to remove blockages within the meridians by utilizing it over the needles. Magnawave on its own allows the cell membranes to rid toxins and oxygenate more effectively.

Spice did not live up to her name! She was a true Champ for her day of tonification!!

Chiropractic and acupuncture are very beneficial for all animals! Macy was showing seizure-like episodes where she would become immobilized with pain in her neck. I’m so happy to report this sweet girl came in today with bright peaceful eyes, happy to give kisses, much more comfortable than she was in this initial picture! Prednisone alone was not enough to help her through this.

I will be seeing horses at C5 and in the Decorah area this Thursday June 26. I have room for two more appointments for dogs or horses. Please message me.

Just look at these three! I have had the privilege of being part of the veterinary care team for these bred heifers. They have had excellent care by the young people who are showing them! Top notch nutrition, husbandry and enrichment for these animals throughout the past year. The students who care for them, have been forward thinking to include regular chiropractic and acupuncture care for them. The proof is in the pictures! Good luck in the show ring! I know your hard work and great care will pay off!
