WE NEED HELP FIGHTING HEARTWORM DISEASE 😭

I hate even asking. It's a non-stop battle for us and any dog rescue located in the Southern region: heartworm disease. It's killing dogs physically, and it's killing us financially.

Heartworm treatment and prevention are very expensive, and our heartworm fund has run dry. If you can spare anything so that we can purchase our monthly heartworm prevention, there are no words to express our appreciation.

We need to raise $10K (yup, that's only for one month), and anything you can give would be a lifesaver—literally.

Some souls are carried by the wind, destined to chase the horizon until they find where they truly belong. Dorothy was one of them.

She began her journey in Kansas, a place where the skies stretch wide and the storms whisper secrets to those who listen. But like the winds of a great tempest, she was swept away—rehomed to Louisiana, where fate would soon take an unexpected turn.

Her new home lasted less than a day. The wild in her could not be contained. A mere wire crate was no match for her restless spirit, and in the blink of an eye, she was gone, vanishing into the unknown. A shadow among the trees, a whisper in the wind.

But even the most untamed hearts have their weaknesses, and for Dorothy, that weakness was food. It was Mariah who outwitted her, luring her into safety with a simple promise of a meal. And so, her journey continued—to Texas, to a new beginning, to a place where she could learn that not all who catch you wish to cage you.

At first, she was cautious, watching the world with wary eyes, stepping lightly as if the ground itself might give way beneath her paws. But with time, patience, and a little love, she began to trust. And now? Now, she is a little love bug—still shy with new souls, still carrying the whispers of the wind in her heart, but here. Present. Home.

Dorothy may have been carried across states, through storms, across unknown lands—but in the end, she was never lost. She was simply following the path the universe had laid before her. And that path led her right where she was meant to be, to us!

OUR TRANSPORT/ADOPTION VAN IS SICK :(

Splinter just came back from riding shotgun to the West Coast and back delivering new dogs to their forever homes but he just informed me that our van is on its last leg...or wheel?

With over 200K miles on it, there are so many things wrong with it, and at this point, we cannot afford to buy a new vehicle. So we're going to try and put "band-aids" on it and keep on going!

We have a rescue to rescue transport scheduled for NEXT WEEK, so we need to get the Black Beauty up to par asap! If anyone can spare a donation to put towards her repairs, it would mean that you would be helping several dogs get to their foster homes, forever homes, and to one of our transport rescue partners.

Kitten Supplies Needed!

We’re currently supplementing milk replacement to help sweet Mama Goose feed her 7 babies—her young body is doing its best, but it’s a big job! We’re in need of:
• Kitten milk replacement
• Oral syringes
• Baby bottles

We’ve also taken in another mama cat and her spicy little kittens! For our nursing mamas, we use a special kind of food to keep them strong and healthy.
