What do you think ?
Is there a right or wrong here ?
I will keep this brief.
We appreciate everyone who thinks “we do such a great job.”
But here is a fact for you. A really big one.
Yesterday I contacted 15 respected rescuers.
We all have one thing in common.
All of us specify that in the event of our death that our dogs must be euthenaised.
I personally have given a time limit of 72 hours.
I don’t want my dogs to mourn, to wonder, to be left alone, shifted to family members, uprooted, confused - to go to a kennel, a foster, a family member who has other dogs.
I know there is a chance it won’t work.
I know their gate may not be locked like mine and they can be driven over.
I know their resident dogs may pick on my little boy.
I know my parents complex won’t allow my Rottweilers.
I have trusted friends who are great homes.
They all have their own dogs.
I know that many things are possible and what strain animals take in the loss of their people.
I know when I die, they will safely meet me, soon after I go.
Death is avoided, at all costs and I’m not entirely sure why.
But know I love my dogs enough that to send them on shortly after my departure.
BECAUSE THERE IS A LIFE WORSE THAN DEATH AND REHOMING IS NOT ALWAYS THE SOLUTION!
