5 EASY STEPS TO A SAFE HALLOWEEN WITH YOUR DOG!

If your dog generally is not bothered by visitors, here are a few easy steps to take this Halloween:

Step 1: secure your dog behind a gate so they cannot reach the door
Step 2: keep the candy out of reach on the other side of the gate
Step 3: have extra high value treats ready by the door
Step 4: every time the doorbell rings, give your dog a treat. Even if they start barking. This will teach your dog that the doorbell predicts good things happening and the barking will decrease. You can prepare even better by training this step BEFORE Halloween. Do a few repetitions a day until the main event!
Step 5: once your dog is secured behind the gate, open the door for the trick or treaters!
*you may want to treat your dog while they see the kids if they are a bit weirded out by the costumes!*

Monitor your dog and if they are becoming stressed, secure them in a quiet room with calming music and a long lasting treat for the rest of trick or treating time!

Our day training program is coming to an end at our current facility at the end of this week.

This program has been such an incredible experience for our trainers and clients.

The small group setting focused on socialization skills and building confidence.
We were able to accommodate dogs who typically do not qualify for daycare settings.

We cannot wait to pick things back up at our new facility but until then, we are offering IN HOME day training!

A trainer comes to your home and works with your dog for 90minutes on behaviors in the home and in the neighborhood. There is also an opportunity for play when appropriate with a trainer’s dog or another client who lives nearby.

We’re moving!

We are moving onto bigger things and moving facilities.

This new facility will help us offer even more services to our community to enrich pet lives!

During our transition and renovation of the new facility, we are pausing on site operations. You can still support us and we can still help you and your dog with private in home training! Our in home training includes 1 on 1 sessions as well as day training-where a trainer comes to your home to work with your dog and do the heavy lifting for you!

Feisty Fido In The Real World is a practice session for our Feisty Fido Foundations course graduates. They put their skills to the test OUTSIDE, in real world scenarios.

These pups got to experience going to a pet store for the first time ever. Just shows how much amazing work these guardians have been putting in!

🎾PLAY AND LEARN WITH US!🤓

“In general, puppies can start puppy socialization classes as early as 7-8 weeks of age. Puppies should receive a minimum of one set of vaccines at least 7 days prior to the first class and a first deworming. They should be kept up-to-date on vaccines throughout the class.” -American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior

Our goal is to build confidence and resilience in puppies as well as to develop socialization skills. We developed our puppy class as a rolling start so there is no time wasted after bringing your puppy home! Proper socialization is crucial in your puppy’s early life!

Structure play is a big part of your puppy’s development. We teach YOU how to read your puppy to make sure everyone is having a positive experience and we teach your puppy how to regulate themselves during play so that they don’t become over aroused.
