Scoop did the thing! 🎓💙 Our guy officially graduated Feisty Fido and we could not be prouder of him and all his big, beautiful feelings.

This class was SUCH a win for Scoop, and honestly? 10/10 recommend the Feisty Fido program with ADOPT Training for A Sound Beginning to anyone looking for a supportive, positive, science-based space to help their pups learn and grow.

Halloween Tips!

If your dog barks when the doorbell rings and you’d like to have a quieter and calmer experience, try this simple tip!

"So - you're telling us, Every time a BELL rings - We all get a treat?"

YEP!

Here’s how -

FIRST, prepare the area by using gates set up by the doorway for safety.
Exercise pens can also be placed around the doorway to prevent accidental escapes or close encounters with little kiddos. ☺

*When the doorbell rings - Immediately toss treats to the dogs, preferably before they start barking -

Open door - treat kids!

*In the beginning stages of training, keep tossing treats until you close the door.

It’s a simple way to teach a positive association with the sound of the doorbell.

If you're consistent at pairing the sound with a treat, you'll end up having a dog that doesn't bark at the doorbell, but looks to you automatically for a treat.

Let the bells ring - Happy Halloween!

We love our friends at Do Better Training! Did you know Robin from A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter is being fostered there? What a lucky pup!

✨ Trainers never stop learning ✨

Even Scoop (Dr. Andy’s own dog!) is working on some big feelings. To help support him, Andy and Scoop joined the Feisty Fido class through A Sound Beginning hosted at ADOPT Pet Shelter in Naperville.

The class was a lot of fun 🎉 and such a good reminder that no matter how much you already know or how long you’ve been doing this, there are always opportunities to learn, grow, and do better.
