is a private, no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has found homes for over 20,000 pets. We provide a temporary, loving home for dogs and cats that no longer have a family of their own. The animals in our shelter have ended up here for a variety of reasons ranging from abandonment, to rescue from an abusive situation, to owner surrender because they no longer can or want to take care of

them. Our animals are loving, family pets who are desperately awaiting for their forever home. was founded in 1989 by a group of generous volunteers determined to find homes for animals in need. Over the decades, our objective has remained the same: to place animals into permanent, caring homes and advance the humane treatment of animals through education.

As we count down to Makin' Strides for Strays, we're introducing some of the amazing adoptable pets whose lives are changed because of supporters like YOU. 💙

Nero is one of the dogs you may have the chance to meet at Strides on June 7... unless he finds his forever family first! 🏡✨

Events like Strides help provide shelter, care, enrichment, and second chances for pets just like Nero while they wait for the families they've been dreaming of.

Happy Send Home Sunday to Mint Chip… now Prim 💚🐾

Prim came to us as a tiny puppy and watched her sibling get adopted … while she kept waiting. For 70 more days, she hoped her turn would come 🥺

And now, it finally has.

No more wondering when it’ll be her turn. This sweet girl finally found the forever family she’s been waiting for and even got a brand new name to start her next chapter 💛

We're not sure if you've noticed but... Domino is doing AMAZING over a Do Better Training ! 🐾💙

Domino has been in the shelter for a long, long time. We don't get why. He loves dogs and people he's just an active dog with plenty of energy to burn!

Do Better generously offered to take him in to work on training and give him a much needed break from the shelter, and he is totally blossoming! He's a playgroup rockstar, expert adventurer, and even a water lover who knew?! 🌊🐶 Robin has even been showing him the ropes while he's there!

The summer is a perfect time to welcome a dog like Domino into your family and give him the love he's been waiting so long for. Please consider Domino if you're looking to rescue a dog.
