is a private, no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has found homes for over 20,000 pets. We provide a temporary, loving home for dogs and cats that no longer have a family of their own. The animals in our shelter have ended up here for a variety of reasons ranging from abandonment, to rescue from an abusive situation, to owner surrender because they no longer can or want to take care of

them. Our animals are loving, family pets who are desperately awaiting for their forever home. was founded in 1989 by a group of generous volunteers determined to find homes for animals in need. Over the decades, our objective has remained the same: to place animals into permanent, caring homes and advance the humane treatment of animals through education.

At 4 years old, Claire is a vivacious, affectionate German Shepherd who’s full of personality—and fur! She may be a big girl, but don’t tell her that—Claire truly believes she’s a lap dog and won’t hesitate to climb right up for a snuggle or wrap you in one of her signature "hugs."

Claire is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm, but this sweet girl is so much more than a diagnosis. The busy shelter environment stresses her out, and what she really needs is a calm, loving home where she can rest, recover, and finally relax.

Despite everything, Claire’s spirit shines bright. She’s playful, loyal, and has endless love to give to the right person or family. If you’re looking for a big-hearted companion who’s just waiting for her chance to feel safe and cherished, Claire could be the girl for you.

If you’ve ever dreamed of a dog who’s equal parts linebacker, goofball, and snuggle monster… say hello to A-Aron. 🐾

This big-hearted pit bull mix is bursting with charm and personality. He lives for human attention, thinks he’s lap-sized (he’s not), and has a toy obsession that rivals most toddlers. 🎾🧸 Tug? Yes. Fetch? Absolutely. Sharing his toys? Eh… we’re working on it.

A-Aron came to us through animal control, but you’d never guess it—he’s full of life, love, and joy. He’s got a huge heart, an even bigger appetite, and a soft spot for anyone willing to give him a good pet behind the ears.

Because of his strength and enthusiasm, he’d thrive in a home with older kids and adults who can match his energy and give him the structure he needs.

Artemis has lived up to her name – strong, independent, and endlessly resilient. This beautiful girl was rescued from an abandoned property where many animals were left to fend for themselves. Some animals sadly did not survive. While others were confined, Artemis was free-roaming, which gave her a fighting chance to find food and water in an environment where resources were scarce.

Despite everything she’s been through, Artemis has emerged not only healthy but full of personality. She’s clever, confident, and knows exactly what she wants out of life — and that includes a cozy bed, regular meals, and a human or two to call her own. She’s not shy about voicing her opinions or seeking attention when she wants it, but she also enjoys her independence.

Now fully recovered and thriving, Artemis is ready to trade survival for comfort and companionship.
