These poor dogs are covered in blood and exhausted. They are used for a sick sport and discarded.
45 people arrested on this dogfighting ring in Texas. They are everywhere. If you are rehoming your pet, make sure you charge a rehoming fee, carefully and thoroughly do a background check on all the individuals, do a few meet & greets... or, surrender your pup to a rescue.

Sheriff's Official Statement on "Alleged" Dogfighting Ring Broken Up In Newton County, Texas overnight:

🚨”Operation Pitbull"🚨

In March of 2025, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into an alleged dog-fighting ring in the Call community. Over the last several months, numerous complaints and tips have been received regarding dog fighting. Throughout the investigation, probable cause was established, and a search warrant was signed by a Newton County Justice of the Peace.

On the evening of Saturday, November 22, 2025, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from several other law enforcement agencies, converged on the property to serve the search warrant.

Prior to the warrant service, the Sheriff's Office utilized the department's drone to conduct surveillance for officer safety purposes. While utilizing the "FLIR" technology, deputies located "spotters" on the perimeter of the property. Spotters are commonly utilized to conduct counter surveillance and alert participants of any law enforcement observed in the area.

When law enforcement arrived, an active fight between two dogs was taking place in a pit clearly constructed for the purpose of dog fighting. Most of the individuals at the scene fled into a wooded area but were ultimately captured by law enforcement. Deputies then separated the two dogs and placed them into kennels for their safety.

Ultimately, 45 individuals were arrested for dog fighting, which required Newton County Jail staff to respond with the jail transport van. Additionally, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded with two transport vans and additional staff to assist with transporting individuals and completing the booking process.

The two dogs involved in the fight were transported by deputies to the Nederland Emergency Veterinarian Clinic for treatment of their wounds.

I would like to extend special thanks to the following agencies for their assistance:

• Texas Department of Public Safety

• Texas Parks and Wildlife

• Newton Police Department

• Newton County Pct. 1 Constable Greg Harbison

• Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

• Jasper County Pct. 6 Constable Chad Ainsworth

As always, I appreciate our dedicated men and women at the Sheriff’s Office for their dedication and hard work.

Approximately 40 vehicles were towed from the property, many of which contained illegal narcotics in plain view, fi****ms, and United States currency. Approximately $73,858 in U.S. currency was taken into evidence, and we will be petitioning the court to seize all currency and other items related to criminal activity.

Dog fighting and animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Newton County. In my years in law enforcement, this is one of the most disturbing crimes I have ever witnessed and the individuals involved should be ashamed of themselves. As your Sheriff, I vow to utilize every resource at our disposal to combat criminal activity in our county.

🐾 Happy Tails!

Nothing makes our rescue hearts happier than seeing these pups thriving with their forever families. We are so grateful to every person who opened their home—and their heart—to one (or TWO 😂 ) of our dogs. Here are some of our recent feel-good adoption stories:

Koda

His previous owner loved him deeply but struggled to care for him. Matt adopted him, and now Koda is always adventuring… or being spoiled by his grandma! We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to this family and their many donations to our rescue! 🥹🩷

Rosco

Found in the desert with twine around his neck and full of worms, Melissa helped him heal and gain weight before bringing him to us. He is now loved by Nick & Erin and their two sons.

Phoenix

Surrendered at just a few weeks old after a neighbor threatened to euthanize the litter. He was immediately adopted by Jeff & Shanae, where he has both a big dog brother, Oakley, and an adorable human sister.

Trooper

Found in a storm drainage pipe and taken to a shelter—we picked him up right away. Jeff & Shanae’s family also adopted this sweet boy.

🐾 Charlie, Biscuit, Princess, Junior & Rosie

A group of Malamute/Lab mix pups from two litters who each landed exactly where they’re meant to be:
• Charlie – Adopted by the same wonderful family who adopted Rosco!
• Biscuit – Adopted by Jake & Shelby and their darling girls. Biscuit was a shining star in obedience school and enjoys following his two little sisters everywhere.
• Princess – Adopted by James & Amber. She loves showing off her smile, going on adventures, and playing with her brother, Dakota.
• Junior – Adopted by Jake & Kylie and their 4 girls. Junior is now living the dream with a family full of little girls to chase—his absolute favorite!
• Rosie – Adopted by Kylie and truly living her best life.

Penny

This older gal roamed the neighborhood for weeks before being safely brought in. She now lives with her Malinois brothers—and yes, she runs the house!

Piper

Her owner’s roommate threatened to euthanize her. She’s now spoiled endlessly by Alisha and Liam.

Maggie

Surrendered due to a move and a new baby. Now she’s treasured and pampered by her owner, Janina.

Lucky

Given up by owners who “didn’t research the breed.” Now he is adored by Chris & Stefanie … and living like the king he always was.

Hope (formerly “Frozen”)

Chained and abandoned for days after her owners moved. Neighbors fed her until bolt cutters freed her. Today, she lives a joyful life with Bill—and has already claimed her favorite chair. No more chains, ever again.

Ruby

Surrendered due to a family divorce. Ruby now has a full, loving household with Casey & Alyssa and all her new siblings.

Cash

Didn’t make it through police training, but he absolutely made it into the right family. Cash now lives with Ryan & Tara and his big (little) brother, Koda.

🐶 We love these endings—and new beginnings.
Thank you to every adopter, foster, and supporter who helps us change lives every single day. 💙n

🐾 Meet Willow!
(Currently seeking a foster or forever home — not yet in our rescue’s care.)
🙏🏻 PLEASE SHARE🙏🏻

Willow is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves nothing more than being close to her people. She’s happiest when she can run, play fetch, and then curl up with her blanket for some cozy snuggles. She’s loyal, intelligent, and eager to please — the perfect companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and plenty of cuddle time afterward.

Breed: German Shepherd
Age: 5.5 years
Weight: ~85–90 lbs
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
Heartworm Preventative: No
Flea/Tick Preventative: No

Energy: Very High
Dogs: No
Cats: No
Livestock: No (but she does love hunting snakes!)
Kids: Yes — best with ages 10+
Leash: Doing well, still improving
Car Rides: Tolerates short trips better than long ones
Crate Trained: Yes, but experiences separation anxiety and has escaped before
Potty Trained: Yes

📍Location: Homedale / Caldwell, Idaho

Reason for Rehoming:
Her family recently moved to a home that doesn’t allow dogs. With new work schedules, they’re away too often, and Willow isn’t getting the attention or exercise she deserves. Since the move, she’s shown some stress-related behavior and mild reactivity toward their young child — behavior that’s likely due to lack of consistency and activity. They want what’s best for her and are hoping to find her the right home or a foster who can help her thrive.

🐾BAKA 🐾
FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED – NOT CURRENTLY AT OUR RESCUE 🐾
DOG NAME: Sobaka (“Baka”)
Breed: German Shepherd / Husky mix (50/50)
Age: 4 years (DOB 7/1/21)
Weight: ~75 lbs
Location: Nampa, ID

BIO:
Meet Sobaka, affectionately called Baka — a smart, loyal, and adventurous boy who loves being outside in any weather! He’s happy to walk through puddles and streams but would rather not be sprayed with water. Fireworks and thunder make him uneasy, but he handles them calmly without panic.

Baka loves walks, hikes, and running with his people or dog friends. He has a shorter attention span and gets curious about his surroundings, so he does best on leash in busy areas. He’s playful, enjoys a good wrestle, and would rather interact with people or dogs than play with toys.

He’s well-mannered in the home, crate and potty trained, and travels well in the car. He’s lived peacefully with kids (ages 2–14) and even cats (though his high energy can be a lot for some).

Behavior & Training:
• Energy Level – High
• Dogs – Yes
• Cats – Yes (can be too playful for some)
• Kids – Yes
• Livestock – Unknown
• Leash – Does well after the first few blocks (commands: “to me” and “okay”)
• Crate Trained – Yes
• Potty Trained – Yes
• Car – Rides great

Health:
• Neutered at 1 year old
• Current on vaccinations
• On heartworm and flea/tick preventatives
• No microchip

Reason for Rehoming:
His current owner must downsize due to financial and housing changes. Unfortunately, large dogs (and his breed mix) aren’t allowed at most of the available rentals, and his temporary living option with a 90-year-old grandmother isn’t suitable for a high-energy pup like Baka.

💛 Looking for a foster or adopter who can give Baka the space and exercise he deserves!

🐾 DOG NAME: Raider
Breed: Doberman/Rottweiler mix
Age: 6 years old
Weight: 110 lbs
Neutered: Yes
Vaccinations: Current
Microchip: No
Heartworm Preventative: No
Flea/Tick Preventative: Simparica

💛 About Raider

Raider is a loyal, gentle soul with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He loves hiking, swimming, and sunbathing in the grass — and when the snow falls, he’s in heaven running and playing in it!

At home, Raider is the perfect mix of protector and cuddle bug. He adores curling up by the fire in winter, chewing on a bone, or relaxing on his bed (or the couch if he’s invited!). He enjoys soft pets on his head, playing fetch, and being close to his people.

🦮 Training & Temperament
• Energy Level: Medium — he’s not hyper, but he loves his walks, hikes, and yard play. A fenced yard is a must.
• Leash Manners: Great on walks with a prong collar.
• Crate Trained: Yes
• Potty Trained: Yes
• Car Rides: Loves them!
• Good With:
• Kids: Yes — lives with a 2-year-old and has been around men, women, and teens.
• Livestock: Yes
• Dogs: No
• Cats: No

📍 Location

Hayden, Idaho

💔 Why He Needs a New Home

Raider’s family was evicted and is now in temporary housing that doesn’t allow pets. Despite their hardship, they’ve continued to pay for his boarding — a true testament to how deeply they love him.

We do not currently have Raider in our rescue.
We would love to bring him in if a foster can open their home. This family’s devotion shows just how special Raider is — please consider being that person for him.

👉 Don’t wait for someone else. You are that someone.
