Psst.. let me put you on to something.
Just a secret between us 🤫

Milkstone Remover/Acid Rinse

Heavy-duty acid detergent for pipelines and dairy equipment
• Removes milkstone from bulk tanks, pipelines, utensils and dairy equipment
• Combines high level of phosphoric acid and non-foaming detergency to remove stubborn mineral deposits
• Leaves stainless dairy equipment sparkling clean
Easy on metals and glassware.

Can be located at local feed/hardware stores and online (typically in quantities of 4)
*TSC sells for $22 a gallon

Tips:
- Zep Spray Bottle 🙏 I guess any will do too; helps disperse the detergent more effectively and limit over usage and/or waste.
- Use leftover detergent from Tray 1 to Tray 2, and so on and so forth.
*I have found the detergent to lose potency with every reuse.
- Soak really tough deposits with fresh detergent. Deposits will melt within minutes; no scrubbing required.

These trays were purchased second hand, then used for just shy of a year with no deep clean - they really needed it; required a few rounds of soaking (until I discovered fresh detergent is the key), and a good stiff scrub brush. I probably used 1/3 of the gallon on 12(+/-) 24x24 trays (7 in the condition as pictured), and 8 - 24x36 trays. The other 13 trays had only been in use for couple months and just needed a quick wipe down.

Happy Cleaning 🐰🧽

I built 10 cages, out of the 11 in my barn.
It took me 5 weeks (give or take), and every bit of free time I had.
I’m not even going to get into the stats of how many hundreds of feet of wire I used 💀

I’m so happy to finally be done (well, 99%, I was short a couple edge protectors). My hands are happy too. 🥲

Now I have space for 80 individual rabbits and I get to focus on filling them. 🐰🐰

Shout out to Rowe, KW Cages and Bass Equipment

All my free time has been dedicated to constructing and improving the latest bunny barn, but today I decided to finally play with some bunnies.

A special thank you to Joe Kim, for allowing these two beauts to move a couple hundred miles away. And to Allyse Sullivan and Becca Forney for helping/guiding/validating the decision(s) made to get them here!

Excited to get them to a show. 💖

Big update! As this project has been nearly 6mo in the making.

Purchased a cheap(ish) 10x15 carport off Amazon, and converted it into what I lovingly refer to as my ‘bunny barn’.
My amazing boyfriend and his awesome (and single 😉) friend had put a handful of weekends of work into it and I’m so grateful!
All in all, it came out to less than $1500.

Highly recommend finding a local(ish) lumber mill! I found a liquidation lumber yard, just an hour away. Actively hosting a sale for $5/board (and have routine sales/discounts).
Unfortunately, our math wasn’t right and I had to run to Home Depot last minute anyway 🎻

Ideally, I would have gathered cinder blocks from Facebook Marketplace, but I was impatient and ended up purchasing for the sake of time.

I did discover/a little birdie told me - what I can best describe as a home improvements goodwill. I was able to score a solid (and heavy) screen door for $20!

We decided to keep the top open for ventilation, lined with screen mesh (held up with waterproof tape and staples because they didnt have screen tight in stock 😬). I’ll regret it in the winter - but planning on sealing it with plastic sheeting when the time comes.

No pictures of it full of bunnies just yet 💔 (its a mess in there)
Maybe in a few more weeks when I’m done building cages.

I’ve noticed the rabbit world shifted into using permanent makeup tattoo machines vs. jerry-rigged electric toothbrushes.
I recently made the upgrade and I have to say the difference is amazing (who would have guessed 🥴).

Figured I’d share with the class.
I invested in the “Charme Princesse Permanent Machine” off Amazon for $50. I enjoy that it gives the option for wireless and plug in power. I found the battery to be enough power on “1” and I had my needle at about the 1.3mm. I personally prefer the 5P needle size, as I like thicker lines. The needles are disposable, which I enjoy for hygienic practices.
What astonished me, was that this only needed one steady pass and my line was perfect. (When I’m used to having to make multiple passes).
Can’t speak on the longevity just yet. Very impressed with the ease of use and production.

Add- On Items:
- Silicone Ink Tray/Pen holder
- Numbing Spray
*not everyone uses this, but I find it makes the process a lot smoother vs. fighting the rabbit (even if they’re wrapped)

Rabbits are not for the faint of heart.
I’ve been back in rabbits for a 8 months now.
I’ve had 53 kits born, and only 18 survived. So far I have 2 grow outs, and 11 to evaluate.

It’s hard not the fall for all the singletons.

Thank you Crazy 8 Rabbit & Cavy Breeders for hosting a splendid show in McMinnville, OR over the weekend. I brought my new convention additions to the show in hopes to receive honest feedback. It was a welcoming experience and we can’t wait for future shows!

We met several breeders we’ve only seen online, including the notorious Joe Kim. This guy is a hoot and a half. He welcomed me into the Mini Rex breed with open arms; encouraging me to develop a long term goal in order to succeed, not only with the breed, but with ARBA. Can’t wait to take him up on his offer to go through some of his rabbits and learn!

We were excited to receive BOSB under Judge Christine Toering with LVR’s Burn Out (as always, thank you Stephanie Hamblin for such amazing starter stock ❤️)

After a few years of radio silence, we are happy to announce we’re making a come back.

Last weekend we flew to Seattle and were graciously hosted by Stephanie Hamblin, who taught me more about Mini Rex in a few hours than I’ve been able to teach myself in my on and off decade long rabbit career. I’m so grateful for such a positive reintroduction to the hobby!

After going through a handful of rabbits, I ended up bringing 4 lovelies home. (Finally got a tri-pod so I can show them off!)
Hoping to get them to a show here soon!
