THE PAWLIDAYS ARE COMING

Make plans to join the Animal Care Center for our annual "Home for the Pawlidays" holiday fostering event. Pets can be fostered over the Thanksgiving and/or Christmas holidays in November & December.

Any available pet can be fostered. Foster pets are supported by the shelter. We will provide supplies for the pet as long as we have supplies available. However, we will not have crates to provide for this event. If you believe you will need to crate the foster pet, please provide one yourself.

Official fostering dates will be announced closer to the events.

Give back this holiday season. Foster. Adopt. Change a life.

Sea turtle hatchlings must navigate through piles of microplastics and plastic debris on nesting beaches to reach the ocean, where they face further dangers. The presence of plastic on beaches can obstruct hatchlings' movement, and increase their risk of predation and dehydration. Once in the ocean, hatchlings are particularly vulnerable as they engage in a "swim frenzy" to reach offshore currents, a critical stage where energy conservation is vital; obstacles like plastic debris can waste their energy and reduce survival chances.
