Comet has officially left EIO AND started his next forever chapter 🥹❤️‍🩹
We are beyond grateful for the incredible family that fell in love with him from the very first moment they saw him. They never immediately jumped. They stood back and watched. And I noticed. I’ve been saving comet for them. I just knew! After recently losing their own beloved dog, they didn’t close off their hearts—instead, they immediately opened them up wide to a rescue dog in desperate need.
They followed Comet’s entire story, loving him deeply even before he lost his little leg, and constantly hoping they would be the ones who got the chance to bring him home. Whats meant to be will always be.
Comet’s path here wasn’t easy. It has been a long journey, including two months of intense recovery ❤️‍🩹. We are infinitely thankful for every single person who came together to help save his life. It truly took a village, and we couldn’t have done it without this amazing community.
Comet is genuinely one of a kind—such a special guy. The absolute best part? We still get to see him often! I don’t think we could live without Comet in our lives, so knowing he is safe with a family who understands the deep bond of a dog is the ultimate gift.
We can’t wait to see him out fishing with his new dad and soaking up all the endless snuggles with his new mom. Have the best life, sweet boy! 🥹🐟❤️

Something we want people to understand about EIO Rescue Ranch…

We are a SMALL but MIGHTY rescue. We can safely accommodate approximately 10–15 dogs at a time, and there are only TWO of us caring for these animals, maintaining our property, and handling everything that comes with running a rescue. ❤️

We know our limitations, and we do our very best to stay within them because EVERY SINGLE DOG DESERVES MORE THAN JUST A PLACE TO STAY.

They deserve love. Attention. Medical care. Structure. A clean environment. And most importantly, someone who truly KNOWS them.

We treat every dog that comes through our gates like one of our own. 🥹

We don’t believe in simply throwing dogs into boarding facilities and losing sight of them. We want to know their personalities, their quirks, their fears, and what makes their tails wag.

When we ask for fosters, it’s not because we don’t want to care for our dogs. It’s because sometimes a dog has been in rescue too long, and we recognize that a loving foster home can provide something more than we can in a busy rescue environment.

And knowing when to ask for help is part of responsible rescue. ❤️

Right now, we have a handful of absolutely AMAZING dogs who are still waiting for their perfect people.

We don’t want to rush them out the door just to make room for another dog. We want their next home to be their FOREVER home.

We may not be the biggest rescue. We may not save hundreds of dogs at once. But we can promise you that the animals in our care are loved beyond measure.

THIS RESCUE ISN’T ABOUT HOW MANY WE CAN SAVE. IT’S ABOUT HOW WELL WE CAN CARE FOR THE ONES WE DO.

🍀🐾 MEET CLOVER & COPPER! TWO BIG BABIES WITH EVEN BIGGER HEARTS! 🐾❤️

WHAT ARE THEY?! 🤷‍♀️😂

Great Dane? Hound? Black Mouth Cur? A little bit of everything?!

WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA! 🤣

But we can tell you what they ARE…

😍 AMAZING.

🐾 RIDICULOUSLY SWEET.
🏡 ALREADY POTTY TRAINED!
🥹 PROFESSIONAL SNUGGLE BUGS!

At just 4 months old, these little BIG babies are already around 32 pounds! So if you’re looking for a tiny lap dog… KEEP SCROLLING! 😂

Clover and Copper are currently being treated for some skin infections and a little upper respiratory infection, but that hasn’t stopped them from being two of the sweetest, most loving puppies you could ever meet.

Seriously, these babies are BIG LOVES. ❤️ They just want affection, snuggles, and someone to love them forever.

We suspect they might have some Great Dane or hound in them, but your guess is as good as ours! One thing is certain… THEY ARE GOING TO BE BIG, BEAUTIFUL DOGS! 🐶

Six years ago, a therapist sat across from me and told me I had “abandonment issues.”
At the time, it just felt like armor. I told myself I was being smart by keeping people at a distance. If I never let anyone truly close, they could never get close enough to hurt me. I was safe, but I was completely numb to the world.
What I didn’t realize then was how far that numbness reached. I hadn’t just shut out people—I had shut out life. We never had a family dog growing up. When I moved out, getting one didn’t even cross my mind. I was so used to keeping my world small and guarded.
To be honest, I still carry those walls with people today. They don’t just disappear. But five years ago, I stepped into the world of animal rescue, and it broke my heart wide open in the most beautiful way possible.
I wouldn’t trade this feeling for anything in the world. For the first time in my life, I am feeling everything so deeply. Yes, I have cried more than I ever thought possible, but those tears mean my armor is finally gone.
I thought I was the one doing the rescuing. It turns out, they were rescuing me all along.
If you are walking through this life feeling numb, detached, or guarded, please do yourself a favor: rescue a dog. If you have children, give them the gift of watching a loyal best friend grow up by their side.
My only regret is that I didn’t let this love into my life a lot sooner.

🐾❤️ JUST ANOTHER DAY AT EIO RESCUE RANCH… WITH A LITTLE PHOTOBOMB FROM JOURNEY! 🐴😂

This picture pretty much sums up life here at EIO Rescue Ranch! ❤️

Front and center is our handsome boy Odi, rocking his oversized orange shirt and those adorable ears, while our newest rescued horse, Journey, decided he needed to be part of the photo shoot too! 😂🐴

But behind this adorable picture is a little bit of a stressful story. 💔

After the massive rainstorms and flooding we experienced here at the ranch, Odi started having some pretty major gastrointestinal issues. Our poor boy has been through a LOT of testing as we’ve been trying to figure out exactly what’s going on with his tummy.

When you run an animal rescue, especially on five acres with dogs, horses, and all kinds of rescued animals, Mother Nature can really throw you some curveballs. The standing water, mud, and aftermath of those storms have been an absolute nightmare.

And while we’ve been worrying about Odi and trying to get him feeling better, there’s Journey in the background reminding us why we do what we do. 🥹❤️

Journey was recently rescued after being found wandering as a stray, and now he’s safe, loved, and apparently pursuing a career in professional photobombing! 😂

Two completely different animals. Two completely different stories. One rescue that loves them both beyond words. ❤️

Some days at EIO Rescue Ranch are beautiful. Some days are exhausting. Some days are filled with vet bills, testing, worry, and wondering what else could possibly happen.

But then you capture a picture like this, and it reminds you that every single one of them is worth it.

🦸‍♂️❤️ ALMOND UPDATE: OUR LITTLE SUPERMAN HAS FOUND HIS SUPER FAMILY! ❤️🦸‍♂️

Remember our sweet little Almond who came all the way from California after suffering horrific injuries? Well, we have some AMAZING news! 🥹❤️

ALMOND IS OFFICIALLY IN A FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME! 🏡🐾

And let us tell you, this little family is absolutely HEAD OVER HEELS in love with him! We truly couldn’t have picked a better family for this special little boy.

And can we talk about his Halloween costume?! 🎃 They dressed him up as SUPERMAN! 🦸‍♂️ Because let’s face it, that’s EXACTLY what Almond is. A tiny superhero who has survived more than any puppy ever should.

But Almond’s journey isn’t quite over yet. 💔

He’s actually on his way to the veterinarian right now to get some more answers about his little leg and why it’s still a bit wonky.

Something about Almond’s original shelter notes has never really added up to us. He was believed to have been hit by a car, but after seeing his injuries, we’re beginning to wonder if something else happened. We suspect he may have actually been attacked by another dog inside his kennel. We don’t know for certain, and we’re hoping the veterinarian can help us better understand what happened to this precious boy.

Regardless of how it happened, Almond NEVER deserved any of it. 💔

What matters now is that he’s SAFE, he’s LOVED, and he has a family treating him like the little superhero he truly is. ❤️

🙏 We are still asking for donations toward Almond’s ongoing veterinary care. His medical journey has been extensive, and today’s appointment will hopefully give us more answers about what his future looks like.
