Loved my first time working with Dolley!

Replying to 🏮 via TikTok

This is how I do my fluffy teddy bear heads! It’s a long video but I didn’t want to cut any of the trim! It’s very important that you see continual use of my comb and checking my work as I’m shearing! This is vital to an even-longer lasting cut. I hope my video can help any baby groomers out there struggling with heads and faces. YOU are not alone and it’s very easy to correct. Give me a follow if this video helped you out or you just liked it 💜

One of my most requested things from my clients is “keep my baby fluffy” and I would say about 50 percent of my clientele has found/stuck with me because a previous groomer couldn’t nail the look they were wanting. This is a basic tutorial to do your round fluffy feet just like I do them! The only true hack in this is COMB, fluff, COMB, cut, COMB COMB COMB AND COMB AGAIN! lol That’s right if you feel targeted, I’m sorry! It needs to be said. When in doubt brush and comb it out
multiple times. This allows you to not only blend it better but it will ALWAYS provide you with a better finished product throughout. I hope this helps any baby groomers that may be hitting a wall or finding it difficult to achieve a fluffy rounded paw that fits the coat length.

For the past week, I’ve been responding to anyone that has a specific grooming technique or to show hacks that use and do when I’m grooming that not only speed up the process but delivers my signature look that is sought after. Piper did such a good job allowing me to work with her and use her for the perfect example of a good girl đŸ’œđŸŸ

(17 year old Pom gets dramatic makeover!)
Oh Bella! You poked my heart today and not in the way I feared.

At that age, these pint-sized fluffballs are deep into their golden years—way past the average 12-16 lifespan for the breed. As a groomer, I know the stats all too well: senior dogs over 15 are way more prone to stress-induced disasters during sessions, like heart attacks or strokes, because their fragile systems just can’t bounce back from the anxiety. Add in common woes like arthritis, thin skin that nicks easily, sensory overload from clippers, and the fact that one wrong move could trigger a medical meltdown?

I was a wreck, pacing my salon, mentally mapping out every contingency—from sedatives to emergency vet calls. What if she panicked and hurt herself? What if I pushed too hard and something went south? I dreaded the worst: a trembling, terrified senior who might never forgive the trauma.

But when her mom handed this towel wrapped baby to me, and this itty-bitty Pom blinked up at me with those big, soulful eyes? Game-changer. No snarls or stiff-legged handoffs. She hopped out like a pro, tail helicoptering, and immediately launched into play mode—Puppy energy? Check. Sweet-as-pie vibes? Double check. At 17, she moved like she was auditioning for a TikTok reel, all bouncy and bold. “Okay, girl,” I whispered, “let’s do this.” The groom was magic. I started slow: a lukewarm foam to ease her in (no icy shocks for arthritic joints), followed by gentle deshedding—her coat was compacted not matted: love. Clippers hummed softly as I sculpted a dramatic teddy-bear trim, unveiling sleek lines and a face that screamed “youthful glow-up.” She chilled on the table, occasionally pawing the air like she was directing the show, and even “helped” by licking my hand or arm. Zero stress. Total trust. By the end, she looked like a show-dog time-traveler—round teddy bear head, clean outline, and that signature Pom strut restored. Pickup? Pure joy. Her mom gasped, eyes welling up: “Oh my God, is that my Bella? I’m going to start crying!!” The little diva stared back in mom’s arms as if she was telling me “Told you I had it.” We laughed it out, both buzzing from the win. Senior grooms will always carry that edge-of-your-seat risk—they’re our most vulnerable clients, after all. But moments like this? They remind me why I do it.

These old souls have stories etched in every whisker, and sometimes, they surprise you with a plot twist that steals your heart. Thank you for coming to see me Bella!

(Replying to đŸ¶đŸ‘€ Roy G. Biv)
well I wouldn’t advise any newbie to just hop in to this, but you asked and you received! 60 sec poodle feet hack the way!

Seasoned groomer > baby groomers for this method. You may think this is easy and fast but this isn’t a walk in the dog park. Pun intended😉

Of course, when it comes to preference and style, I like to do a reverse 10fw which is a wide blade. I like to make long smooth passes and manipulate the webbing and toes for a clean, even finish. Each poodle’s foot takes about 1 and a half minutes to be completed. That’s after 18 years of repetition and improvement in my grooming skills. So as the saying goes, you don’t pay me for my time working. You pay and trust me for my quality of work, decades of professional experience and top-knot(ch) customer service!

Hey, I get it—life’s a whirlwind, and sometimes the best-laid plans for a pup’s fresh trim just
 p**f.
But here’s the real talk from one heart to another:

That quick head’s-up, even if it’s a frantic text at 8:29 saying “Can’t swing by today—rain check?”
means the world. It’s not about being perfect or clocking in hours early; it’s about that simple bridge of “hey, I’m thinking of you and your schedule too.”

You see, as a groomer who’s got my own chaos—
kids’ matches I hate missing, that one coffee run that keeps me sane—I’ve learned we all honor each other best when we keep the line open. No judgment if it’s last-second (we’re pros at pivoting, promise), or if you’ve got a heads-up brewing days out. It’s just that steady reach-out that lets me breathe easy, reshuffle without the what-if fog, and yeah, maybe sneak out to cheer on my son’s next big win instead of staring at an empty spot.

So, to my amazing clients: You’re family here, fur and all. Hit me up anytime—advance or “oops” style—and we’ll keep those tails wagging without the stress. What’s one thing that’s thrown your week lately? Spill, I’m all ears (and clippers). đŸ¶đŸ’•

Schnauzers’ signature eyebrows are those angry, arched furnishings that frame their soulful eyes, giving them that alert, mischievous expression we all love 😏 Per AKC breed standards, they’re meant to be prominent and textured but never so long they block vision—think a neat, forward-brushed arc ending about halfway down the muzzle for that classic squared-off look ect 📋

But here’s the thing: while show-ring grooming demands pixel-perfect precision to nail those competitive standardsđŸ©đŸ„‡- my hack in this video is all about real-life streamlined steps for max speed and efficiency, so you get tidy, expressive brows without the marathon trim session of measuring bone structure and nodules. Perfect for busy owners who want the vibe, not the full pageant prep.

đŸŸLet’s start with the reason most poodle and doodle owners choose Courky💜
—the rumors that keep groomers up at night. In hushed corners of industry forums and post-shift gripe sessions, you’ll hear it: “Doodles are the devil’s work.” Okay, maybe not that dramatic, but close. The “Doodle Craze,” as one trade mag calls it, has flooded salons with these high-maintenance hybrids, and not everyone’s thrilled. ïżŒ

Owners show up beaming with their F1 or F1B mixes, expecting a teddy-bear trim that holds for weeks. But when that genetic lottery spits out a wavy thin coat—think fine, feathery waves that look angelic dry but turn into a matted mess the second they hit humidity or a romp in the yard? That’s when the real drama unfolds. These coats aren’t just hair; they’re a wildcard. One littermate might rock a loose wave that’s forgiving, while the next gets that ultra-thin, silky-smooth layer that clings, tangles, and defies every blade and brush in your arsenal. ïżŒđŸ’š

Why the struggle? 😳
Picture this: You’re elbow-deep in a 60-pound Goldendoodle, blow-drying roots to fluff out the undercoat while dodging playful paw swats. Wavy thin coats are notorious mat magnets—friction zones like armpits, ears, and tails turn into velcro traps overnight if owners skip even one brush session. ïżŒ Unlike a straight Golden coat (easy clip and go) or a full Poodle curl (predictable pattern), these mixes blend the worst of both: the shedding shed of the retriever with the tangle-prone p**f of the poodle, but dialed down to a whisper-thin texture that hides mats until they’re a solid pelt. Dematting? Forget it—it’s like unwrapping a fur burrito, painful for the pup and heartbreaking for you. One wrong snip, and you’ve got uneven waves that scream “amateur hour,” or worse, a shave-down that leaves the owner sobbing on Facebook. ïżŒ And don’t get me started on the shave rumors—groomersDO NOT want to buzz your baby bald; they HAVE to when neglect turns the coat into a welfare issue. It’s not cruelty; it’s compassion under duress😔

Now, the kicker: learning to master these beasts? Honey, that’s a master’s degree in patience, with a side of carpal tunnel. Entry-level groomers clock two years just to handle basics, but hand-scissoring a wavy thin doodle? Add another 2-5 years of trial, error, and tendonitis. Why? Because every dog’s coat is a snowflake—age, season, even diet shift the texture from wavy to straightish overnight, demanding on-the-fly tweaks. ïżŒ You’re not cutting hair; you’re sculpting chaos. Blend the flat legs with the p**fy body? Stretch the coat just right while it’s dry? One slip, and it’s lopsided forever.

Pros burn out fast—industry stats predict a 50,000-groomer shortage by 2030, thanks to the “Doodle deluge” wearing bodies down like sandpaper on skin. ïżŒ Bills skyrocket too—$200-500 per pop, every 4-6 weeks—because that “simple trim” eats hours of fluffing, blending, and begging the dog to hold still. ïżŒ

So, what’s the takeaway, you ask? Doodles aren’t low-maintenance myths; they’re love letters to commitment. Owners, brush daily—really brush, belly to tail—and start puppy grooms early to build trust. Groomers, speak up: Set boundaries, charge what you’re worth, and remember, we’re artists wrestling weather vanes. Together, we can turn these wavy thin terrors into triumphs. Who’s with me? Let’s raise a slicker brush to the doodles—flaws, fury, and all. Thank you.

Here are a few of today’s curly coats!
đŸ©+🩼=đŸ„°

Mr. Barkley had a thinner wavy coat with some minor matting. Thankfully his coat type will allow Mats to break free and brush out. Some parts required the 4fw blade but thank the lord for a good set of thinners to blend those areas in together✂ $120

Miss Izzy was just in for her two week spa refresher! She’s just the cutest little ball of energy and mom’s one of the best!💜 $45

And finally, Mr. Topper James.
Topper came I for his appointment ready for me to carve out some clothes on this big boy. He may be getting older but that doesn’t stop his confidence and energy! Hes a table dancer but only in the best of waysđŸ© $75

So, twirl yourself on down and hit the like button 🙏 Maybe tell me about your day or let me know who YOUR favorite was from today.

I have 500+ reoccurring clients for only two groomers and if you ALL engaged every time you saw me on social media, I could keep rising costs down by offsetting inflation with multiple social media income streams. Thanks for making it down this far( those who did read itđŸ˜˜đŸ’œđŸŸ).

Don’t EVER underestimate the power of a good Face, Feet & F***y! Do you brush your dog and comb out any tangles daily? Needing to save anywhere possible on your budget? A Face Feet and F***y cut is possibly the best option to stretch out time in between grooming appointments. For instance, Fozzie’s full groom costs about $180 and would be at least every six weeks for overall maintenance and upkeep. BUT! If he gets a full groom and then 4-6 weeks later comes in for a Face, Feet, and F***y trim, he will be bathed, blown out and brushed throughout, his nails grinded, ear cleaning, sanitary trimming, face shape and tidy along with rounding and trimming paws cost only $90 and will stretch another 4-6 weeks if properly maintained at home. There’s a big catch to this method though. You, as a pet owner, HAVE to brush and comb your pups daily! This is the way! Bye Fozzie Bear!
