Today we celebrate the work of Martin Luther King Jr. His leadership during the Civil Rights Movement influenced the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights and the 1965 Voters Rights Act. In 1964, he was recognized with the Nobel Peace Prize. We continue to honor his legacy and what he fought for.
