Now is the time to start preparing your home and pet for fireworks season! If you have a pet that gets anxious or scared due to the sound of fireworks, please provide them with a safe space in your home.

More pets go missing around July 4th than any other time of the year! Please verify that your pet's microchip and other IDs are up to date with your most current contact information (just in case).

If needed, there are medications and supplements that we can prescribe to help keep your pet calm during these times. Just give us a call and we will be happy to help!

This big guy, appropriately named Moose, is such a character! We set up our office space for him to relax in prior to his surgery today, and he decided to enjoy the view of our backyard from on top of the desk 😆. He definitely gave our team a work out today 💪.

It's finally going to feel like summer today! ☀️ Here are some tips to keep your pet safe during the heat.

It is important to note that hot weather can be extremely dangerous for brachycephalic breeds, aka short-nosed dogs, such as bulldogs, pugs, boxers, Boston terriers, etc. Because of their anatomy, it is much more difficult for them to pant and regulate their body temperature when they are hot, which puts them at a higher risk for heat stroke.

Heat stroke is a critical, and often fatal, condition in which the pet’s internal temperature reaches above a healthy range.

Please be safe and stay cool and hydrated! 😎

This is our favorite kind of dental cleaning! 🦷
You may be wondering why?? 🤔 It’s because we were able to get this little guy’s teeth pearly white again AND he got to keep most of his teeth!

The first picture shows his teeth covered with lots of calculus and tartar, causing gingivitis, halitosis, gingival recession and discomfort 😥

The second picture shows his teeth after a thorough ultrasonic cleaning and polishing. Dental radiographs showed bone loss for a few of his teeth, so those unfortunately needed to be extracted, but overall his remaining teeth cleaned up very nicely! 😃

We are so excited to get Fred feeling better and help give him a happier, healthier life! 😊
