Move Mutt - Information, Help and Advice for Animals in Need

Move Mutt - Information, Help and Advice for Animals in Need Move Mutt was a 501 C3 animal welfare/rescue that ran from ‘09 - ‘16. Let us help you be part of the solution!

Due to health issues I was unable to continue with the physical and mental devotion it deserved. I still help w/ placements and answer behavior questions for both dog & cat people. Most 'problem' dogs end up in shelters due solely to basic behavioral issues which are actually quite simple to correct through exercise alone. By eliminateing common behavior problems before sending the dog into an

other home, we've greatly decreased the chance of that animal returning to another shelter, or worse. With innovative training techniques, positive reinforcement, individual interaction and exercise therapy, Move Mutt can help significantly improve behavior issues and lower euthanasia numbers.

🚨 Kitten Rescue Update! 🐾

We’ve officially got FOUR of the six kittens safe and sound! Just look at this little ginger cuddle puddle 😻 These sweet babies were born to a feral mama in Minnesota, and thanks to some quick teamwork, love, and a lot of patience, they’re finally indoors and off the streets.

We still have two kittens and mama cat to go, and only about a week left to catch them before the next leg of their journey. The full crew will be traveling through Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, and Utah—and we’re able to make stops in any of those states to find loving homes along the way!

We’re also looking for fosters and adopters in the Salt Lake City area, where they’ll be spayed/neutered and ready for their new forever homes.

Please share, foster, adopt, or donate if you can. Every bit helps get these babies (and their brave mama) the safe, loving lives they deserve. ❤️

DM me if you’re interested in fostering or adopting

🚨 Kitten Update! 🐾
Our Great Orange Migration has officially begun! ✨

We’ve managed to trap two of the six orange fluffballs so far — four more to go, plus their fierce and fabulous mama. 🧡 They’re living wild in Minnesota right now, but time is ticking — we have just one week left to bring the whole family in safely.

Once they’re all rounded up, they’ll be embarking on a six-state adventure:
📍 Minnesota → North Dakota → South Dakota → Montana → Idaho → Utah
That’s right — they’re doing more traveling than most of us this summer!

🚐 Along the way, we’re happy to make stops in any of those states to find these sweeties their forever homes. If you’re along the route and want to adopt, let’s talk!

📍And if you’re in Salt Lake City, we’re urgently looking for fosters to help them transition out of survival mode and into snuggle mode. 🛏️🐾

Their final destination? Loving homes and safe, comfy lives. 🏡❤️

Stay tuned for updates on their cross-country rescue — and keep your fingers crossed we catch the whole crew in time. Traps are set, treats are out, and we’re not giving up. 😼💪

I have friends who go to Minnesota several times a year. Every once in a while, they’ll bring home a stray and find a home for it. Well, this time we’re going to try to make it seven!

🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈 Six Sweet Orange Kittens (and Their Mama) Need Loving Homes – Coming to Salt Lake City

These six little orange bundles of energy are full of life, personality, and that hearty Midwestern spirit! They’re currently living behind a cabin on a lake in Minnesota—but the area isn’t safe for strays, and their lives are at risk.

They’ll be transferred at the end of the month to Salt Lake City, where they’ll be seen by a vet and spayed/neutered upon arrival. We’re not sure yet how many can be safely trapped, but we’re doing our best to rescue the whole litter—and their sweet mama, who will also need a home.

🐾 About the kittens:
• Six orange tabbies (s*x unknown for now)
• Not yet spayed/neutered (but will be soon)
• Playful, curious, and tough little survivors
• Raised outdoors but full of potential with the right home

If you can open your heart and home to one (or more) of these special orange kitties—or their devoted mama—please reach out! They’ve made it this far, now they just need a chance to thrive.

😻 Will be available for adoption in Salt Lake City, UT. Transport help may be available. Please DM me for any additional information or any questions you have.

Let’s get them safe, vetted, and into the loving homes they deserve. ❤️

UPDATE: his foster mom has fallen in love with him. How could she not? This little man now has his forever home!

This little white fluff of love was found in Francis, Utah about a week ago. The people who found him searched for possible owners, physically and through social media. No one came forward. We’re thinking he was dumped up there, as I’ve found a couple of Akbash (one in Idaho and one in Utah) that had both been dumped. He’s currently in St. George, but can be transported to Salt Lake City or Las Vegas. He’s about eight weeks old, which made him just under seven weeks when he was found. He’s not neutered yet, due to his young age. He’s housebroken already as he’s a smart little guy. He’s been taken to a vet and checked out with a clean bill of health. He was pretty skinny and really dirty when he was found, but as you can tell from the pictures, he’s looking pretty darn handsome now! A friend asked me to post this because she knows of my work with Akbash in the past as an owner, with my former rescue and with training clients. I’m going to be pretty adamant that the person who adopts him has done their research on livestock guardian dogs (Akbash in particular) and hopefully has experience with them. If you’re interested, please DM me. Thank you all so much.

(And just in case you’re thinking about this cute little fellow and don’t know how big they get, my last off Albash was 140 pounds. That’s me and him in the last picture).

Hillary Spangler, MD is a North Carolina-based internal medicine doctor who knows firsthand what it’s like to navigate a life-threatening sepsis diagnosis and its aftereffects. Dr. Spangler contracted the flu and developed sepsis when she was a child, and years later, she would train to be a doctor in the same facility where she was treated as a child.

“The experience really encouraged me to want to be a part of difficult times for families,” she shares now.

When two senior cats, 11-year-old Mojo and 16-year-old Max, were dropped off with Anne Arundel County Animal Control, in Maryland, their outlook didn't look good.

Wow!!! Maybe 2019 is actually the Year of the Dog. The Chinese were just 1 year off!!! We'll let this one slide.

Lake County is about to break ground on a 31,000-square-foot, no-kill animal shelter in Tavares, officials announced Wednesday. The facility is being funded by a 1-cent sales tax and should ease overcrowding at the current shelter.
