Land, DVM

Dr. Land became involved with the local Humane Society in Georgia in 1976, where she served ten years on the Board of Directors, and fostered over 300 homeless animals. She opened Pet Vet Inc., in Georgia in 1987 after receiving her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Georgia. Project Spay/Neuter was created in 1996 to provide subsidized and low cost spays/neuters. I

n 1997 she and her staff received specialized training in pediatric sterilization. In 2009, Animal Birth Control in Georgia was created to replace Project Spay/Neuter. Since that time, Dr. Land has perfected these procedures to provide the lowest possible cost, while assuring the utmost in safety and fastest recovery time possible for the patient. Tri-State Spay/Neuter Clinic will open this fall 2015 to help Logan's Run Rescue and other rescue and humane society's in its mission to end the over-population of stray and abandoned animals in the community.

Meet Lee Bird. ❤️🐾

13 years old. Congested. Opinionated.
And apparently VERY clear about her personal boundaries. 😹

Yesterday, Lee Bird visited Dr. Ariel at Tri-State Veterinary Clinic for veterinary acupuncture to help support her congestion and overall comfort.

Now… in a perfect world, acupuncture patients sit peacefully and relax through treatment.

Cats, however, were not consulted when those expectations were created. 😂

Lee Bird tolerated approximately THREE needles before deciding she had fully participated in this medical experience and would not be accepting additional suggestions at this time. 👑

And honestly? For a senior cat… that’s okay.

One of the things we love about veterinary medicine is that every patient is different. Some pets tolerate treatments longer than others, and part of good care is respecting the patient in front of you and working within their comfort level.

Even short acupuncture sessions can sometimes provide supportive benefits for comfort, relaxation, and overall wellness.

Lee Bird may not have completed the “full spa package”… but she definitely completed the “make the staff laugh” portion. ❤️🐾
