Benji 1998?-2024
We are sad to announce that our beloved Benji has crossed the rainbow bridge at the age of 26.
Benji was an imported hunter from Florida (surprise when he arrived 😝). A hunter he was not in every way, although he tried his hardest for his rider.
He definitely was not what we expected when he arrived sight unseen, covered in mange and older than his purchase age. But we gave him an unconditional home to live out his years. This farm was his farm.
He was a surly guy with pep in his step and endless kisses until his last days.
Benji was used in a lesson program, trail riding. hosted riders for therapeutic riding, and served to support many riders over the years. Benji was a go to and a gem to step up for riders who needed a last minute fill in at our local shows. He loved it and was actually competitive.
Most recently he was trying out his new role as an EAL horse and he would have been perfect. He excelled at that role effortlessly.
We will miss his droopy lip while relaxing for a groom and his never ending kisses.
Thank you for your service sweet boy. We will miss you old man. Rest easy.
Thank you to Dr. Matt for caring for Benji over the years, to Taz for your help and support today, and Ashley for always loving him (even when he bit your horse which he did from time to time), and to our AVE farm family who supported Benji during his failing health.
