I thought Duke was going to be satisfied with some neck scratches while I rested in the hammock. Nope. He wanted to climb right in and cuddle.

stopped by to pick up some p**p and love on our herd. Kingston showed his appreciation, but kept things brief so as not to distract her from her work.

Belle gets the same breakfast and dinner as Duke, but still insists his is better.

More of Jets greatest hits. Lil says he’s full of personality. I think she’s right.

Throwback to Percy’s first few days at Boudreaux’s. He immediately announced his presence and proceeded to kick and/or bite every horse on the property. We are so glad he mellowed.

Did you know for horses, the first three years count as about 6.5 human years each, and every year after age four counts as 2.5 human years. This means a 1-year-old horse is like a 6.5-year-old child, a 5-year-old horse is like a 25-year-old adult, and a 20-year-old horse is like a 62.5-year-old senior. Kingston is well into his 20th summer and looks primed for 20 more. I doubt I’ll look this good at 62.5 yrs old.

Horses communicate through their eyes, ears, head position, body posture, and tail swishes. All in, there are thousands of messages a horse may share. I haven’t seen this particular combination in any book, but I think Kingston is saying: “Look at me! I’m the smartest horse alive! I stole his head thing and now I’m twirling it around! Huzzah!”
