Fact! There have been a few studies around this, and it turns out that just like us, dogs have a preferred hand (well, paw) to lead with. You can find out whether your dog is left or right-pawed by giving them their favorite toy or interactive game and seeing which paw they use to help them first (Mair, 2020).

One of the great things about dogs is that, in addition to helping us combat stress, they are also fantastic mindfulness teachers. Dogs not only have an incredible ability to focus on what’s right in front of them, they also do not really care about our plans
Just interacting with your dog is an opportunity to purposely focus your attention on the present moment. For this reason, animals, especially dogs, can help us in learning to effectively practice mindfulness.
By spending time with your pets and engaging in activities with them, you can let go of stress and bring your body into a more serene, calm and positive state, which is a vital part of mindfulness (mudita, 2021)
