This breaks our hearts when we see this. PLEASE, think about how you would feel. It is so sad to see a dog tied up day after day without ever getting off the lead and going for a walk, ride and being with their family. Dogs are pack animals and need to socialize. Please remember.

Another huge THANK YOU to Ronald Mager, Chief of Operations, and the many other volunteers who work daily in getting your Alger County Animal Shelter ready. The tireless hours put in by our volunteers have been making such a huge difference and making such great progress.

A little status update on the shelter construction 👀 things are coming along so beautifully & we’re getting close to moving in!
We can’t thank our crew & all volunteers enough for showing up constantly, giving their time & hard work to finish the building. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them! 🐾
Additionally, we’re officially working on putting together our upcoming Pints for Paws fundraiser on September 20th at The Connection! Funds received from the event will go towards wrapping up the building as well as animal care for the coming year. We hope to see you there!

A great big thank you to Dawn and her family for helping out this little guy, Boris. He was found and had slipped his collar and gotten away from his family. Dawn and her family contacted the Shelter and they were able to reunite Boris to his family. We are so thankful for wonderful people who care so much and work together in reuniting pets with their owners.

Badger has a wonderful new home. Badger (fna Miss Kitty) recently lost his Mama and was looking for a new home. A great big THANK YOU to Rocky and Patty for welcoming Badger into their family and home. We couldn't have asked for a better life for Badger. Thank you also to Mary, Bill and Nicole for being so great to work with in finding Badger a new home and making sure Badger was well taken care of!

A little pupdate on Ms.Darla 🌸 Darla was officially adopted by her foster family. She’s been through lots of training and although she’s still quite a stinker, she’s beyond spoiled & adored! 💗😝 Darla loves playing chase around the yard, going for walks and car rides, cuddling, and her favorite thing ever is food!! Happy happy days for Darly-girl!!
