Friends we are happy to share that we have secured the rest of the funds needed to add a second exit door in the back Community Room at the Common Market building thanks to The Ball Brothers Foundation. This initial investment paired with support from Muncie Redevelopment Commission will put us one step closer to re-opening the community space with Plank Brothers Bike Co.'s first project The Avondale Arts Co-op.

This is our first grant for The Plank Brothers, and it means so much to us personally for it to come from The BBF. The Ball Brothers entrepreneurial spirit created the abundance that is still investing in their community 100 years later.

That is our long term goal with choosing to come home and invest in our backyard. We know the power of creativity and resilience that the Ball Brothers so genuinely brought to this community. We look forward helping carry on that grit by creating a space for Rosy The Riveters (Merry Menders), classes, documentaries, community gatherings, and more.

I asked the team, what’s up with the buckets and and the corners. They said those are for pollinators.

Life is growing out here, in spite of it all!

Community is built one shared meal, one conversation, and one act of service at a time. Join us for Summer of Love 2026 starting May 11 at 4 p.m. at The Common Market.

We'll be cooking out, working the urban farm, supporting local businesses, and learning from one another. This is your chance to connect with your neighbors, roll up your sleeves, and be part of something big.
