Most groomers dread the thought of starting a new puppy for their 1st grooming, for good reasons!
They aren't trained, don't stand still are usually scared, wiggly and uncooperative in every way!! I love training puppies for their 1st grooming experience, because I just love puppies! Yes it takes alot of patience, love, consistency and rewarding good behavior. But It is so worth it, a blank slate that I can mold into a dog that will be a great dog to groom in a very short time.
This little mini Bernadoodle "Huey" is one of the cutest puppies I've ever groomed and such a joy! His tail never stopped wagging, my face was slobbered in kisses, such a sweet baby! But he wouldn't stand still, wouldn't stand up, and didn't know what i wanted. 45 min. Into grooming he knew what i wanted and was enjoying the attention of grooming. But, I still renamed him "Mr. Wiggles!"
