EVERYONE MEET MS. HAZEL 💚🐾
This beautiful 10-year-old Aussie recently traded Florida for North Carolina and WHEW... she was NOT prepared for our NC hot, humid, muggy summer. 🤣☀️
Hazels coat was trying so hard to shed, but she is unaccustomed to our climate and it was so hard. So mummy called us....
And once we got started...
HOLY FLOOF. 😳
Who knew she was hiding ALL OF THAT under there?! 🤣🤣
The pictures really do say it all.
Thankfully, Ms. Hazel was an absolute sweetheart through the entire process. 💚 So loving, SO patient, and perfectly happy to let us keep working while the pile beside her just kept growing.
And LOOK at her now. 😍
Same beautiful Hazel...with breathable skin and smooth amazing fur. 🤣💚🐾

EVERYONE, REMEMBER SASHA? 💚🐾

Well... she’s BACK, and it only took 9 months! 😂 But when Sasha comes to HG specifically for her Professional Deshed, nine months between visits says quite a bit.

You can’t hide true results... especially under THAT much hair. 🤣💚🐾

Mummy loved Sasha’s results so much last time that she returned for round two! 🥰🐾

Sasha very quickly established her 2 simple ground rules:

No. 1. If we were going to do all that work, she absolutely was NOT going to participate. 🤣

Stand up, Sasha.
No.

Turn around, Sasha.
Also no.

No. 2. See rule no.1. 😂

📢 For the record, SASHA DOES, IN FACT, HAVE FOUR LEGS. She just chose to feature only three of them today. 🤣

We brushed. We blew. We combed.
Sasha’s only contribution? Moral support... from a horizontal position!😳

Juda boy decided Highland Grooming was the PERFECT venue to share the songs of his people. 🎤🤣

Bath? 🎶 AWWOOOOO.
Dryer? 🎶 AWWOOOOOO.
Clippers? 🎶 AWWWOOOOOOO.
Nobody touching him at all?
🎶 AWWOOOOOOOOOO. 🤣🤣

We even brought out "Ms Posh" who is our service dog for dogs. But, Juda thought we provided him a backup singer. 🤷‍♀️

Shout out to Bose for their amazing noise-canceling headphones, so Juda’s full-length concert didn’t phase us one bit. 😂🎧
Interestingly enough, the concert DID have scheduled intermissions...
For treats. 🤣
Apparently you cannot AWWOOOO and chew at the same time. Who knew? 😂
His wonderful loving mummy pre-warned us he would vocalize his every thought and movement 🤣 And that's really Mr. Juda. 💚 He wasn't upset. He wasn't difficult. He's just a sweet boy with A LOT to say and absolutely no indoor voice. 🤣
And......underneath all that commentary, we found one seriously handsome little man. 😍✂️

EVERYONE MEET PENELOPE 💚
“Pen” to her friends. 🐾
This teeny 3.7 lb MICRO doodle arrived for her VERY FIRST GROOM ✂️ and I’m not exaggerating when I say I had to rethink the scale of EVERYTHING. 🤣
Tiny clippers.
Tiny comb.
Tiny scissors.
I must admit, I was a little terrified considering she wasnt even as long as my shears 😂
But while I was busy figuring out how to groom something approximately the size of a baby rabbit... Pen was unfazed. 😳
First bath? Bring it.
Blow dryer? Is that all you’ve got?
Grooming table? I was born for this. 😎
No fear. No puppy panic. No trying to eat the dryer! 🤣 She happily accepted this whole strange new world like she’d been coming to Highland Grooming for years.
Meanwhile, the three of us in the salon were busy fighting over who got to love on her next. 💚
For a FIRST-EVER GROOM, this little 3.7 lb girl absolutely blew us away. 🥹
And that FACE hiding underneath all that baby fluff?! 😍
Tiny dog. Tiny tools. BIG first day. 💚✂️

FOR THOSE WHO KNOW… KNOW. 😏💚

You know when you get that “Highland Grooming is looking forward to…” reminder message, and you look over at your furbaby 👀 and start doing the mental inventory…

“I mean, her body isn’t THAT bad."
“I’ve definitely been brushing her ears.”
“When DID I last comb that tail?” 😳

Then one of two things happens…

1. You shake your head, shrug your shoulders, admit defeat and decide, “Jay will fix it!”

OR…

2. Suddenly you’re on the floor, brush in hand, wrestling a fluffy mess who has absolutely NO idea why their evening just took such a chaotic turn. 🤣🤣

Yep. That. ALLLLL of that! 🤣

Well……

ME TOO.

This darling little girl came in with plenty of fluff, just no shape. (Wait... is fluff a shape?) 😂
Her body cleaned up beautifully, and that face, albeit adorable, needs more hair. Never thought those words would come out of my mouth, but we have plans for that face. BIG teddy bear plans. 🧸✂️ And for that, we need... HAIR! 😂
Miss Velvet is also sporting her homegrown colored feet courtesy of a little paw licking, and those paws are now are firmly in our crosshairs. 🎯
At HG, we’re never just grooming the dog standing on the table today. We’re grooming the dog we want to see six months from now. 💚
And Velvet?

Before coming to Highland Grooming, sweet Mabel had been groomed under sedation. Today? No sedation, and an absolute delight from start to finish.

Manel acts as the perfect reminder that grooming isn't always about the dog (ok NEVER about the dog, in our opinion lol)... and it isn't always about the groomer either.
Sometimes personalities just don't click. Sometimes a different pace, a different environment, a different handling style, or simply a fresh start makes all the difference.
Just like us "hoomans" very furbaby is an individual, and finding the right fit can completely change their grooming experience.
As for Ms Mabel, she fits HG just right! Welcome to the pack beautiful girl 💚💚💚💚💚💚🐾🥰
