The "olds" hanging out. Tripper is 16 and her half sister Swizzle is 15. Swizzle likes to do laps around the couch.....we don't know why.

Flare in season and her son Doc is quite beside himself. We have worked at trying to tire him out. It is helping but she has not hit the flirty stage yet. Having intact animals brings its own trials and tribulations. Soon one of them will have to be crated in rotation. That's never fun, but we do not want a woops ...especially mother/ son!!
We will continue work on Sr. Earthdog titles and barn hunt this summer. Then Doc will start Rally Obedience. Scent work will be in our future...we do some hides here and there and both Flare and Doc have been successful "hunters".

Cautionary Tale
Earlier this year my girl Flare had a very serious medical experience. She is doing remarkably well and we returning to normal activities. I just want to remind folks that dogs being dogs they find things to eat that are harmful to them. Where my older dogs learned to "leave it" early in life, Flare LOVES anything that has my scent......and she is fast!This almost killed her. I am way more cautious where I leave things and we are working that "leave it" command like crazy. I was very lucky that my dog survived.
