A small and private no-kill shelter for animals in Stone County ARKANSAS Stone County Humane Society, Inc. We work off of a wait-list.

is a 501 (c)3 organization created in 1999 with the goal of building an animal shelter in Stone County, AR for dogs and cats. We completed that goal in August 2016 and are located at 17379 Hwy 9, Mountain View, AR 72560. Our organization is managed by an 11 member board and we have 4 part-time paid employees and one full-time shelter manager. We have limited space but DO NOT euthanize to make room for another animal. The doors keep revolving - as one leaves another comes in, so we are at full capacity at all times. We care for 20-25 dogs at any one time (same for cats). An appointment must be made to surrender an animal please call the shelter 870-269-5200 and leave a message and someone will return your call. The shelter is open daily for adoptions from 2 to 5 PM and mornings by appointment only. Our dog adoption fee is $100, our fee for a Paws in Prison trained dog is $200, and cat adoption fee is $75. You can view our adoptable pets online at stonecountyhumanecosiety.org. You can make online donations on the website as well. We also take cash or checks at the shelter or you can mail your check to SCHS, 17379 Highway 9, Mountain View, AR 72560. We provide low-cost spay/neuter options for the community pets and strays. HUGE thank you to everyone who donated and continues to donate to our community food pantry! With your help, no pets in Stone County will go hungry. **We currently need dog food if you are able to help**
If you are unable to provide food for your cats or dogs, we can give you food from the pantry once a month. Call 870-269-5200.

Dog Food Please!
Our small community pantry is out of LARGE bags of dry dog food.
If you can, please pick up a bag or two of ANY BRAND dog food next time you are at Walmart and donate it to the community pantry. This food goes to the people in our county that cannot afford to feed their pets.
**Together we can make sure no dogs go hungry!**

Happy Tails...
Lefty craves affection and accepts it, but will be very timid with you at first. He is getting more confident each day and does great with the people that take the time to get to know him. He loves to go on walks with the volunteers that he was once afraid of. He is a calm and gentle soul with lots of love to give. Lefty will be a wonderful dog for any patient person willing to work with him. He is 2 1/2 years old and weighs 55lbs. Contact us to day to come meet Lefty 870-269-5200.
