Well call me crazy but we decided to add a bottle calf to the craziness!! This little girl will hopefully one day be a good milk cow for our family. She is a Jersey/Angus cross. She is super cute! Now we have a good place to put some of this milk to good use! Little miss is already helping out!

Mother’s Day out here milking the cow in the beautiful sunshine! Then just when I thought I was done this mama walked in the headlock and decided she needed to be milked too. She was squirting milk before I even hooked her up! Glad to provide some relief for her and also add to the fridge. I think I’m going to need a second fridge just for milk soon or a bottle calf to feed!

It’s been a crazy week or two, I can’t remember! Our second calf was born yesterday, a little red heifer. We have started to freeze dry the colostrum for future use with calves. I learned to make bone broth and tallow! Today we will be working on fences because our cows have been stinkers and have been breaking the fences.
